should this be split into balloon burst (mario party 1) and balloon burst (mario party 2), they have different japanese names after all, and japanese is the original language BiggestMan 14:53, April 21, 2023 (EDT)
- They seem different enough since one is 4-Player and the other is its 2-vs-2 follow-up. LinkTheLefty (talk) 15:09, April 21, 2023 (EDT)
- Thats what i think too, especially considering bowser's big blast and bigger blast have different pages just for having different names everywhere even though they are even less different BiggestMan 15:44, April 21, 2023 (EDT)
- As the user who once separated their infoboxes (though it was mostly because I couldn't think of a way to not make it sound like the time limit difference is also in the MP2 version), I agree. I also think the same should be done to the other mini-games that appear in both MP1 and MP2 (if only because I oppose the not-proposal of "first iteration's image in infobox only", and that a suggestion I had there was unnoticed). - Yeah from a wiki organizational perspective as well as a gameplay perspective it should be split. Though I do wonder what people's thoughts are on the iterations of Shy Guy Says and Bobsled Run? Are there any other minigame iterations that change from one mode to the other across different installments? Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 21:04, April 21, 2023 (EDT)
- I did kinda touch on stuff like this, though not in great detail, but I feel if they do have significant gameplay differences, they could be split off. And it's true; if mini-games like Bowser's Bigger Blast or heck even Hexagon Heat or Rainbow Run can be split on name alone, this can be split on gameplay differences. To further support this, Toad Bandstand plays identically to Mario Bandstand, except it goes from a free-for-all to a 2-vs-2 and it's also split (though it also had a different name).
- @Mario To answer your question, some mini-games do have slight differences in how they end, though the control rules don't change: Hot Rope Jump does go from a "Everyone jumps 20 times to win" to a "Last man standing wins" idea, if that counts for anything. Additionally, the rules in the original Mario Party were if anyone gets burned, the game ends immediately and they fork over money, Bowl Over goes from one shot and hit people for money to two shots and actually aim to hit everyone to win and Grab Bag goes from highway robbery on everyone else to a more contained steal mushrooms idea. They are slight changes in rules, but changes none the less. Tails777 Talk to me!
- There is also Crane Game which gets a make-over between Mario Party 1 and 2, same for Crazy Cutters and Skateboard Scamper. Wonder if we should open discussion about potentially splitting this into their Party 1 and Party 2 counterparts. Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 18:22, April 22, 2023 (EDT)
- It really depends on if the stance of being in different games is more notable than sharing the same control scheme and overall concept. I feel more inclined to support splitting them, to be consistent with other mini-games that have had similar treatment (Bowser's Bigger Blast and Beach Volleyball to name notable examples) and the fact that many of them do face some notable changes, this one being a good example. And again, many mini-games with identical play styles, but different names are also split so I can't see how it would hurt that much. Tails777 Talk to me!

This minigame has different names in the japanese versions and works quite differently between iterations, yet are still considered the same minigame on this wiki while minigames like bowser's big blast and bowser's bigger blast have separated pages just for having different names in every language while functioning the exact same
