For the sake of avoiding an edit war

We've already established that the Assist Block does not appear in this level in either version of the game, but it's not true that the Invincibility Leaf can't be brought in from elsewhere. I recently viewed this video on the game. 13:53 - 14:15 contains footage of the leaf clearly being used in Champion's Road, and unless that person hacked the game or something, then clearly there's an exploit.

Hope that clears things up. I will not revert unless there's a consensus. --CameronL365 Sprite of Wario about to perform a Barge, from Virtual Boy Wario Land. 13:38, February 22, 2021 (EST)

From what I've heard about this (as someone who has never used the invincibility leaf before), it's not even possible to store the invincibility leaf in item storage and you immediately lose the powerup after completing a level, so it seems like it's definitely not possible to have it in Champion's Road. So hacking seems to be the biggest possibility there. Mario jumping Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8 15:08, February 22, 2021 (EST)

I found the original footage from that video, the uploader confirmed in the comments that it was a cheat done on an emulator. So no, you can't get the Invincibility Leaf in Champion's Road legitimately. --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 15:10, February 22, 2021 (EST)

the article says that the course has no power-ups

but this contradicts the list of power-ups, which lists the piranha plant as a power-up. Pikachu210 (talk) 15:33, May 22, 2021 (EDT)

Potted Piranha Plants are items, not power-ups. It probably shouldn't be on that list at all. --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 15:49, May 22, 2021 (EDT)
power-ups are items. Pikachu210 (talk) 19:13, May 23, 2021 (EDT)
It's not really a power-up because it doesn't transform the character into a different form, it's just a support item that they carry around. In fact, it should be removed from the power-up list. Mario jumping Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8 19:22, May 23, 2021 (EDT)
By your logic, the 1-up mushroom isn't a power-up. Pikachu210 (talk) 12:14, May 24, 2021 (EDT)
I don't think Nintendo ever called it one, actually. Mario jumping Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8 12:25, May 24, 2021 (EDT)
when has Nintendo ever called anything a power-up??? Pikachu210 (talk) 17:30, May 24, 2021 (EDT)
On their website, for starters.Stooben Rooben 17:46, May 24, 2021 (EDT)
that's not Nintendo of Japan. that's Nintendo UK. Pikachu210 (talk) 17:02, May 26, 2021 (EDT)
And? Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 17:18, May 26, 2021 (EDT)
the cannon box is called a power-up there, even though it doesn't transform you. Pikachu210 (talk) 17:20, May 26, 2021 (EDT)
Technically, they do :P They attach to you and change how you play, falling off if you get hit. Similar to a Super Mushroom or Fire Flower. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 17:22, May 26, 2021 (EDT)
but it doesn't exactly transform you into a named form. it's not part of your body either. it's more headwear than part of your body. aside from that, the piranha plant also changes how the game is played. Pikachu210 (talk) 18:25, May 26, 2021 (EDT)
Nintendo of Japan uses the term as well, and on more than one occasion (I can find further examples if needed). They seem to use the term in relation to transformative items and suits (the first link includes a picture of Propeller Box which, like Cannon Box, is "headwear"). — Stooben Rooben 18:41, May 26, 2021 (EDT)
Power-up Panels from NSMBW comes to mind. Scrooge200 (talk) PMCS Mustard Cafe Sign.png 17:05, May 26, 2021 (EDT)
