- The Animal Crossing: New Horizons 1.8.0 Free Update released worldwide on February 25, 2021, adding Super Mario-themed items in celebration of the Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary.
- In a Nintendo Direct broadcast on February 17, 2021, Mario Golf: Super Rush (pictured) was announced for the Nintendo Switch and is set to be released on June 25, 2021. Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 were also revealed as the fighters for Challenger Pack 9 in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and are set to be released in March 2021.
- Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury was released worldwide on February 12, 2021.
- The opening for Super Nintendo World in Osaka, Japan, has been delayed indefinitely due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in Osaka.
