Talk:Resident demon
Demo-Kremling?
Last time I heard, this enemy is called the Resident Demon according to Squawks the Parrot.--Taj The Genie 17:25, 27 January 2007 (EST)
- Hmmm! Any sources? 3D, who likes thing OFFICIAL. And it used to be called The Really Weird Freaky Robo Skeleton Kremling Cyborg!
I think he just meant its the castle's resident demon, as in he resides there. -- Sir Grodus
Awright. Finally, an OFFICIAL name! Thank you, Taj. 3D, all things official, official for all! Yes, I'm weird.
Are you sure thats an official name, I always thought that guy was among the abundance of unamed characters introduced in Donkey Kong 64. Plus, this is the first time I've heard him be refered to as "Resident Demon" aside from Squawks describing him like that. -- Sir Grodus
I'm pretty sure it is. It's in the game so it has to be official, but I could be wrong. But let's just keep this name until we get more information on it. --Taj The Genie 18:07, 27 January 2007 (EST)
I checked THE best DK websides and found out his real name is The Train Ride Specter. OFFICIAL PEPULZ! I allready changed it. User: Mecha-Boss Unit
Which DK website was that? I still think its Resident Demon. Fawfulfury65
- Mecha-Boss Unit is a known liar for article names. He can't be trusted. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
I don't Lie. Anit-Mario manages to hack my account. The Wario Land 4 Official guide thing was HIS doing. thought I'd Let Ya Know! User: Mecha-Boss Unit
P.S. I thougt you said you were gonna change it back! User:Mecha-Boss Unit
I checked DKWiki and it said "Resident Demon." User: Diddy Kong vs Bowser Jr. http://www.dkwiki.com/Resident_Demon
I don't know how to put this but aren't all of DKWiki's Articles the same exact thing as MarioWiki's? and I still think Train RIde Specter Sounds better For the reference to the Ghost train ride where he's found. User:Mecha-Boss Unit
Name
Been a while since I played, myself, but according to the page quote, Squawks simply calls it the "resident demon," i.e. not as a proper noun. As such, "resident" merely refers to the fact that he is in his place of dwelling. As such, this should probably be moved to "Demon" (or "Demon (Kremling)"), or a name from the guide, if applicable. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 04:47, 4 May 2018 (EDT)
- I'm for renaming it to "Demon" since "resident" is simply used as an adjective here. Mario JC 09:46, 15 May 2018 (EDT)
- The thing about DK64 is that all of the in-game dialogue is in ALL-CAPS, which makes distinguishing one-off descriptive terms from official names difficult. 20:53, 21 August 2018 (EDT)
- Someone should really just ask Steve Mayles on Twitter about all the things we don't have good names for from the DKC games. I'm actually curious if this is a non-pirate redesign of Kackle, akin to what was done with Klobber and Kaboom. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:16, 21 August 2018 (EDT)
- That's true. Though judging from the quote this is likely descriptive. I can move this to "demon" if no one objects. Mario JC 22:14, 21 August 2018 (EDT)
- I don't like the idea of moving this to a generic conjectural title on a whim when we can't actually prove that "Resident Demon" is a descriptive term from that quote alone, given the nature of the in-game dialogue. Even if it is, in the absence of a proper name, I would rather use "Resident demon" as the article title. 22:34, 21 August 2018 (EDT)
