Inserting Citations

See our policy how to insert citations properly. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 00:48, 9 June 2017 (EDT)

Dang it, got edit sniped :P.
I see what you're trying to do. I'll go ahead and add the reference for you, but feel free to look over the policy above or ask for help from someone if you need it :) Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 00:50, 9 June 2017 (EDT)
I wasn't sure where he wanted it so I wanted him to place the right code in the spot he wanted it to be. Also, didn't think he would try to re-add it as quickly as he did, thus making it possible for you to miss the edit. Italics

Hey, and welcome. Please remember that when naming game titles, like Minecraft or Super Mario Bros., make sure to italicise them, as I've just done. If you didn't know, this is done by placing two apostrophes before and after the name (example: Minecraft). Thanks. Image categorising

Hello, Nickfurry1. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

or

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Please remember to add a category to any images you upload and select the appropriate license (e.g. game screenshot, game sprite) from the drop-down bar in Special:Upload when uploading. In the case of the ones you just uploaded, they were missing Category:Super Mario Kart Images. Thanks. Rosalina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 00:13, 14 June 2017 (EDT)

Aboutfile reminder

Hello, Nickfurry1. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the aboutfile template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded syntax is shown below.

Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line for the parameter(s) you don't use. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using aboutfile incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Your three latest uploads all lacked the aboutfile template, along with proper licensing and categories like what Mario jc (talk) mentioned. If you're confused on the process, don't be afraid to ask for help, but also please don't just ignore the given template. Thanks for reading. LBsig.png LB (talkeditsforum) 00:43, 14 June 2017 (EDT)

Sherm

Good start on the article creation. Just remember to add appropriate categories and bold the subject's name in the first sentence, as outlined in the Manual of Style. It is also recommended that you include as much information as possible before creating an article, rather than one line of info; otherwise they will be subject to deletion. I wanted to say the same thing regarding Moe-Eye. It's good that you're creating new articles, but remember to add as much detail as you can, along with any needed references. LBsig.png LB (talkeditsforum) 03:31, 16 June 2017 (EDT)

Quick tip

You can use wp for Wikipedia links, rather than typing in the full URL. Rosalina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 07:44, 23 June 2017 (EDT)

Uploads

Hey, just to let you know, we already have all of the images that you've been uploading here. So please stop uploading them. Yoshi876 (talk)

Image placement

Hi again. Keep in mind that wherever you place the file names in the code is where the final image is displayed in the article. Generally, images go at the top of the section (under the header); otherwise, it could leave behind a huge gap like right here. You can align the images left or right, and rescale if necessary (see Help:Image for more information). If you're curious to see where the images are positioned before saving the page, you can use the "Show preview" button. Rosalina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 23:21, 29 June 2017 (EDT)

Sorry, but fan-made GIFs like this are not allowed on mainspace, and will have to be removed from the Mario page. I've marked it as one of your personal images should you wish to keep it for your userpage, however it will be deleted if it is left unused, or if you choose to mark it for deletion with delete.
