“Ever since those big eels showed up, we haven't caught ANY fish!”
Penguru, Super Mario Galaxy

The Drip Drop Galaxy is a galaxy in the game Super Mario Galaxy. The player must feed a Hungry Luma 600 Star Bits to unlock the galaxy. It is essentially a large planet made almost entirely of water, with a small sandy core and two small floating islands. Sitting on the core of this galaxy, on the bottom of the sea, are some boulders. There is a sunken airship, as well as a sunken Starshroom and a volcanic vent. The planet is inhabited by thirteen Penguins, three Gringills, and various fish, including some Porcupuffers that are located inside treasure chests. Torpedo Teds are also shot from various areas underwater.

Planets/Areas

Tear Drop Planet

Tear Drop Planet[1] is the main planet that is made mostly of water with the exception of a sand core and two islands. Three Gringills patrol the waters and keep the penguins from catching any fish. On the sandy core, there is a sunken airship, as well as a mysterious sunken Starshroom. No explanation for these is ever made in the game, and it can only be assumed that they were involved in some form of collision.

Mission

This galaxy consists of only the following mission.

Level Summary
Giant Eel Outbreak This mission's objective is to defeat the large Gringills.

Trivia

  • The Drip Drop Galaxy is the only galaxy not accessed from inside a dome that unlocks another galaxy upon the completion of a mission.
