In Super Mario Bros. 3, a Roulette Box is a box at the end of the level and switches among three items: a Mushroom, a Fire Flower, or a Star. Levels are finished by hitting them. Getting three Star cards will result in five extra lives. In most levels, a Star card can easily be obtained by running during the last few seconds before getting it. However, this is not true in some levels such as 1-4 because the distance is too short.
