Mushroom World
Template:Location-infobox Template:Distinguish2
Mushroom World refers to the lands from Super Mario Bros. 3. The Mushroom Kingdom serves as a gateway to these lands. In Super Mario Bros. 3, Bowser and the Koopalings have taken over the seven kingdoms of the Mushroom World. They steal the magic wands of each king and transform the kings of each land to various creatures, but Mario and Luigi eventually defeat them and restore the lands and kings to normal. In Super Mario RPG, the area around the Mushroom Kingdom is merely called "Mario's World" in English, and "Mario World" in Japanese (マリオワールド). The term is later used in Yoshi's Safari, where it is stated in the ending that Mario and Yoshi departed from Jewelry Land to return to the Mushroom World.
In Paper Mario, "Mushroom World" also refers to the Mushroom Kingdom in the Japanese script of Paper Mario. In the game, Mario travels through this world to recover the Star Spirits so he can eventually face Bowser and rescue Princess Peach. Along the way, he meets several partners that aid him on his journey throughout the Mushroom World. The English localization substitute most of the usage of "Mushroom World" to "Mushroom Kingdom".
