Time Bob-omb

Time Bob-ombs are small red Bob-ombs with digital timers on their faces that appear in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. They appear during the boss battles with Roy Koopa, Wendy O. Koopa, and Larry Koopa in Bowser's Castle. They do not attack the Mario Bros. until the digital timer on their face reaches zero. When it does, Mario and Luigi are instantly knocked out. The timer counts down from 8, and the brothers have only eight turns to beat the Koopalings.

A Time Bob-omb sneaks up behind the bros after they supposedly "beat" Bowletta. It self-destructs in between them, knocking them out instantly, which allows Bowletta to suck them into her stomach, where they fight Cackletta's Soul.

Trivia

• These Bob-ombs bear a resemblance to the Bob-ombs seen in Super Mario Sunshine as both have digital faces; however, they lack the wind-up key located at the top of their heads.
• Time Bob-ombs actually do a set amount of damage to the Mario Bros. For example, at the final battle, if Mario and/or Luigi have more than 699 HP, they do not get knocked out and have comparatively less health lost. Bowletta also won't suck them in and actually admits defeat, meaning battling Cackletta Soul is only optional.
