- Admiral Bobbery (pictured), from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, is the only character who doesn't go to sleep during Luigi's stories.
- Mattermouths are similar to the Super Mario 64 beta Blargg, that originally was supposed to be in the game, but was removed from the game for unknown reasons.
- Although Yoshi normally can't face Chief Chilly in Super Mario 64 DS, except if the player uses a glitch to enter the mirror, Chief Chilly has special quotes for when facing Yoshi and when being defeated by him (see the quotes page for more).
- Boolossus in Luigi's Mansion is the only Portrait Ghost to not have HP.
- The boss battle against Dogadon, in Donkey Kong 64, in the level Fungi Forest, takes place in a lava arena, although the real level does not have any lava in it.
