Unused Items

I have various unused items from Paper Mario, the only thing is some of them look just like badges. Should we add an unused items list?

I also have many unused badges to include.
- Yoshi Mastar

Go for it. For BP amount, say "Likely __" if it's a P version of another badge in the game, since it would probably be the same amount. Wayoshi ( T·C·@ ) 13:37, 1 September 2006 (EDT)
I uploaded images for the other 10.

PM2 Badges

For Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, I have 39 X 39 icons for all the badges. Would it be worth it to upload all these icons and add them to the chart, or should I ditch the idea? Wayoshi 19:13, 13 June 2006 (EDT)

I think the more images the better...as long as they are of high quality. --Son of Suns 19:22, 13 June 2006 (EDT)
File:Allornothing.gif - is this high-quality? Wayoshi 15:45, 14 June 2006 (EDT)
looks high-quality to me. HK-47 15:49, 14 June 2006 (EDT)

Yes. That's very good. Perfect. --Son of Suns 15:53, 14 June 2006 (EDT)

Nice Job, Wayoshi! --Son of Suns 17:52, 14 June 2006 (EDT)

Yeah, it came out nicely. :) --Wayoshi 19:30, 14 June 2006 (EDT)

Impressive! --DarkInsaniy (talk)

Clothing

In the Mario & Luigi series, does clothing count? It is an add-on that affects HP & DEF in Superstar Saga (badges affect POW & BP) and all clothes affect everything in Partners in Time (badges add special effects to a brother). -Wayoshi 23:08, 21 June 2006 (EDT)

No. Clothing is clothing while Badges are Badges. They produce similar effects but are two different items physically. --Son of Suns 23:21, 21 June 2006 (EDT)

Dummied Out

What does Dummied Out mean? Superchao 23:35, 4 August 2006 (EDT)

Actually, Dummied Out means that the badge has not been confirmed or is rumored (fake). Like in PM2, there is no All or Nothing P badge (though now removed). Dummied Out badges should be removed from the table unless you can find the badge in the game. Wayoshi ( T·C·@ ) 23:45, 4 August 2006 (EDT)

But actully, Dummied Out badges are listed at The Mushroom Kingdom as badges that are in the programming and not in the game itself.

I've never looked closely into these types, but it would make sense. Attack FX F in PM and the four Partner badges (All or Nothing P, Lucky Day P, Flower Drain P, and something else P) sound like extras that were scrapped and/or mistaken. Wayoshi ( T·C·@ ) 23:57, 4 August 2006 (EDT)

Pity Flower P, you should look at The Mushroom Kingdom website in Lost Bytes. Can we still add them? Page Link: http://www.themushroomkingdom.net/pmttyd_lost.shtml Superchao 00:06, 5 August 2006 (EDT)

Obsolete game programming is not part of the Marioverse, so no. However, very cool page. Wayoshi ( T·C·@ ) 00:15, 5 August 2006 (EDT)
It should still count, as it is part of the programming, and in the list, they could be listed as "Scrapped" or "Unused Badge". Superchao 00:17, 5 August 2006 (EDT)

Unused Badges

I don't think unused badges (Attack FX F & Lucky Day P) should be included in the list. Wayoshi ( T·C·@ ) 16:14, 30 August 2006 (EDT)

Or at the very least, they should not be included in the main list, but placed in a different subsection. -- Son of Suns
What subsection? And there are more unused badges. Superchao 16:28, 30 August 2006 (EDT)
There. Add them alphabetically in Section 1.3 Wayoshi ( T·C·@ ) 16:54, 30 August 2006 (EDT)

Badge and articles

I think someone forgot the badge you get from the Atomic Boo. Because I don't see it. Also, don't you think someone should add the information about L Emblem, to the Luigi article, and the W Emblem to the Wario article? Seeing how the Waluigi article has the information on puting them both on.--PeteyPiranhaLover 19:03, 15 December 2006 (EST)

Add all those badges to the list my friend. Paper Jorge

The Atomic Boo badge is there.Paper Jorge

Where? What's it called? 3dhammer.gif 3D, {{{1}}} 3dhammer.gif

It's the Lucky Start Badge. -Doopliss Rocks

Redirects

Would it be OK if I made redirects for every badge to this list? --Yoshi626File:Egg.PNG 00:45, 4 February 2007 (EST)

No. Not needed. Will just clutter up the articles list page. -- Son of Suns
Yes, but shouldn't people who are looking up these badges get redirected to where the info is? --Yoshi626File:Egg.PNG 02:17, 4 February 2007 (EST)
Redirect pages don't add to the total # of articles. Wa Yoshihead.png TC@Y 10:36, 4 February 2007 (EST)
But they are added to the list of all (main) articles in the wiki. -- Son of Suns
Is that an issue? I can see some people looking up specific badge info, and then be redirected here. Wa Yoshihead.png TC@Y 11:34, 4 February 2007 (EST)
It could be an issue for some, to have so many redirects (like all the badges and "Bad Mario") cluttering up the list of articles. For others, some redirects would be helpful. -- Son of Suns

Super Mario RPG

Think it should be mentioned that there are a few badges in Super Mario RPG? Theres the Safety Badge and a few others I think. -- Sir Grodus

Maybe in short section or something, as we have Accessories (SMRPG) for those badges. -- Son of Suns
Following all other sections, as Badges in PM, TTYD, M&L, and PiT are certainly far more important and relevant to the article than SMRPG's handful of badges. - A Link to the Past 06:24, 13 May 2007 (EDT)

Bros. Life and Bros. Respect

What is the exact reason no-one knows how to obtain these badges (in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga)? I've seen a few sources saying they can be obtained from enemies, but I can't find out from which enemies. Are they even in the game at all? YesmanJr 13:05, 21 August 2007 (EDT)

Pretty sure I got Respect from defeating Hermie III once, but don't quote me on that. Wa Yoshihead.png TC@Y 00:51, 22 August 2007 (EDT)
Do you have the badge on your current file? YesmanJr 18:52, 22 August 2007 (EDT)

Rewriting the Unused Badges Section

Using the game shark code 8110F344 0XXX, I've been able to look through and equip all the unused badges in the original Paper Mario. I got the correct BP and function for each of them. And I gave each badge with no name a systemic name based on its pointer in the ROM, rather than trivial names made up by fans... which means they're now in a different order in the table. I added 4 badges that were missing from the old list, too. There appear to be 2 badges I didn't find while sweeping the pointer table, I moved them to the end as "Unknown Badge...?" I also separated out the Paper Mario 2 badges into their own table. If these changes are unwanted, feel free to revert them, I won't be offended :) - 2257(Talk) 18:58, 25 October 2007 (EDT)

Oh, and I haven't touched the PM2 section, other than separating it from the PM section. I believe that Turtle Curse is actually an item, not a badge, called Koopa Curse, but I could be wrong. - 2257(Talk) 19:20, 25 October 2007 (EDT)

Could you maybe post screenshots of the unused badges/items in action? Superjustin 15:33, 30 May 2008 (EDT)

Well, uhhh... there's not that much to see, actually, but I could make a little animation that shows how Mario looks when you have badge $0101 - 2257(Talk) 20:48, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
I went ahead and did that. - 2257(Talk) 21:08, 1 June 2008 (EDT)

Anyone speak Japanese?

I've just discovered that all the "nameless" badges have names, but they weren't translated. I hate hate hate Mario Story's font, and I'm not so great at Japanese anyway, so if you are and you'd like to help, I'd be grateful. - 2257(Talk) 16:09, 3 June 2008 (EDT)

I don't speak japnese but I do know a translateing website. heres the link: [[1]] --rwars 20:17, 13 October 2011 (EDT)

Beta/unused badges

Shouldn't the two unused badges section be moved to the Beta Elements section for some reason? RAP.pngRAP... Heh, another user who's willing to get some beta info. :) That's good for the wiki. ^_^

Well, probably, but those lists are kind of long... I mean, the Beta Elements page is huge already... - 2257(Talk) 01:57, 5 August 2008 (EDT)

M&L 3

The second half of that M&L3 Paragraph makes almost no sense. Relics? Socks? They should have separate articles. And, "Badges reappear in M&L3," then, later, "Badges are replaced by..."? That makes no sense either. BLOC PARTIER.

M&L RPG 3 - Luigi's Bros. Badges

I've been reading about Luigi's Excellent!! Bros. Badge, and then I came upon some info about the badge's action command, that left a question in my mind. It reads: "Action Command: Excellent. If Brother gets lower than that, his side of the bar empties." Something's unclear about it, though: does it empty fully, or does it empty in the same proportion it would fill if the brother did get an Excellent (I hope it's the latter...)? Please answer! Mr. Br Mario

It empties totally. - 2257(Talk) 12:54, 10 May 2009 (EDT)

sorting

err... do you really need to have EVERYTHING in alphabetical order around here? How about by number? Another castle 21:03, 29 January 2010 (EST)

Badge Block

Hey, Supershroom here! Should there be a section on the red ? Block you get badges from in Paper Mario (And mabye in PM:TTYD and SPM too, I'm not sure)? I've found it odd that no-one has -- but does it have a section in this page, mabye? I'll check. And if so, what's it's official name? Is it Badge Block? A Super ShroomSupershroom Artwork of a ? Block from New Super Mario Bros.+ 20 HP! Yeah! Yes, I'll get a new sig soon - this one's terrible!

thats a good idea!

Japanese names for badges

I'm thinking of adding the corresponding Japanese names for some of the badges listed here. For example, "Mega Jump" would be ドカーンジャンプ (Dokān Janpu). What would be the best way to accomplish this? --Miguel-Martins 17:28, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Never mind. I just saw the "List of Badges/Names in Other Languages" article. I'll contribute to it with a small update. --Miguel-Martins 18:59, 2 January 2011 (EST)

Why is this one article?

I Think allthe badges should have their own article.this gives almost no information on them, the Items each have their own article.I think it's a terrible idea combining all of the badges from every game ito one artcle.

It really annoys me that the badges are one article with almost no information on them.this is not helpful at all!Wouldnt it be better if it was one article for each game's badges with info on them kind of like list of implied stuff but with pictures.

Split into Badges( by game)

Template:SettledTPP

KEEP SINGLE ARTICLE 3-8

I think This article needs to be split into the Badges by game, not crammed into one article.that's like merging all of the Microgames from the Warioware series into one article.Every Microgame has it's own article. All of the Badges vary from game to game,Badges in Mario & Luigi:bowser's inside story are a completely different thing that the badges in the Paper Mario series.Same for Mario & Luigi:SS and PiT.The article is also lacking important information on badges like how you get them, and details on what they do.

  2. SWFlash (talk) Per proposal (you've made an one bad example with microgames, though)

Oppose

  1. Goomba's Shoe15 (talk) Per my comments below
  2. Mario4Ever (talk) Per the user below me.
  3. Bop1996 (talk) Even if we split them up into just badges for each game, the format works very well as is. There's no need to split, just look in the respective game section for badges from that game, or if you don't know which game the badge is in, use Ctrl-F.
  4. Zero777 (talk) Per all. The difference with microgames and badges is that badges don't play a big role in the game (except for one) and microgames are the whole concept and element of the warioware games.
  5. UltraMario3000 (talk) Per all. And this proposal would be technically illegal anyways since that would create about hundreds of stubs.
  6. Yoshiwaker (talk) Per Bop1996. Also, this would split up a great Featured Article.
  7. Reddragon19k (talk) Per all! No split!
  8. Reversinator (talk) Completely unnecessary. The whole article is already organized by game, so there's no point to splitting them.

Comments

Also it tells you where they are located and it shouldn't have to give you details on how to get them this isn't a strategy guide Goomba's Shoe15 (talk)

I proposed that they get an aticle based on the game, like Badges(Paper Mario), and Badges (Mario & Luigi:Bowser's Inside Story.I did not say to create an article for every badge, which would create a hassle. yoshiyoshiyoshi (talk)

@goomasshoe15 sorry,I didnt know it said where to fin them. my bad. yoshiyoshiyoshi (talk)

The deadline was wrong: TPPs end 2 weeks after they are created (May 10 is only 12 days after April 28). Also, TPPs don't need a "Voting Start" line. - Walkazo 15:05, 5 May 2011 (EDT)

I think you should all change your vote.I DID NOT suggest to make an article for each badge.READ the proposal before you assume things!yoshiyoshiyoshi (talk)

Yeah that one was my bad sorry bout that but i still think this is un needed since all the info you seek is already in the article Goomba's Shoe15 (talk)

But more to the point you lied when you said that this article doesnt tell you where you find them are what they do the only other option is that you never acctually read the article cause not knowing would be impossible if you acctually read the article Goomba's Shoe15 (talk)

PM sound effect badges

Should we add the sound the sound effect badges make in Paper Mario? I don't know the sounds they make anyway.Fuzzy in New Super Mario Bros. UYoshiGo99Artwork of a Yoshi egg on a tilt. It is unknown whether this artwork was released with a certain game or not.

It might be kinda hard to describe them so I'd say no. YoshiwakerTyranitar.png

So they don't make specific noises like the ones in Paper Mario 2 did?Fuzzy in New Super Mario Bros. UYoshiGo99Artwork of a Yoshi egg on a tilt. It is unknown whether this artwork was released with a certain game or not.

Super Paper Mario

I think we should make seperate articles for the Super Paper Mario HP Plus and Power Plus items. We also made a seperate article for the Happy Flower, which is also a badge in the first two Paper Mario games and an item in Super Paper Mario.
--Zaimoon

Yeah... --rwars 19:51, 13 October 2011 (EDT)

How do I get it?

For PM, How do you get the badge on that is on the hill in Dry Dry desort? --rwars 19:59, 13 October 2011 (EDT)

For the forums, and I really don't know.Fuzzy in New Super Mario Bros. UYoshiGo99Artwork of a Yoshi egg on a tilt. It is unknown whether this artwork was released with a certain game or not.

OK. and how is that for the forums? I mean, it's about the article, right? --rwars 20:19, 13 October 2011 (EDT)

Well, unless you're trying to add it to the article, which is unnecessary, then this comment isn't about improving the article. Talk about the actual article that isn't designed to improve or clarify the article in some way belongs on the forums. Bop1996 (Talk)

We should seperate these into different articles like "Mario and Luigi Partners in Time (badges)" instead of having one big article.
