Super Smash Bros. Melee is the GameCube hosted sequel to the smash-hit (no pun intended) Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64, and is also incredibly popular itself, being one of the best selling games for the GameCube.
Super Smash Bros. Melee is a fighting game where various characters from Nintendo's popular franchises battle on different courses, also taken from Nintendo fanchises. SSBM almost soley focuses on multiplayer mode, but has two decent single-player modes; a new mode called "Adventure" mode, and the original Story mode from Super Smash Bros.
