Template:Worldbox World 8 is the final world in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, excluding the secret ninth world. The world has a total of ten levels.

The Fortresses here leads to a fight with Kamek, who previously in the game is only seen enhancing the Koopalings when the heroes reach them in Castles. This world also features the third and final fight with Bowser Jr., once again on an Airship. The final level here features the two-part final battle with Bowser, who is not once seen in the game up until that point. The Enemy Course in the level are Podoboos between 8-3 and 8-Fortress on the bridge.

Levels

World 8-1

In World 8-1, Mario and Co. have to go through a volcanic area full of lava. Raining Debris fall from the sky. There are rising lava spouts, which block the players temporarily from progressing if they don't have the Propeller Suit. Also, a cloud of hot ashes will chase the players from the left to the right. The hot ashes will instantly take out the heroes on contact if they are too slow.

World 8-2

This level contains more falling debris and spinning wheels on the ground. As soon as Mario and co. enter the pipe, they end up in an underground area filled with more lava. Goombas and Paragoombas will appear many times on this stage, along with the spiked balls. The team have to dodge the obstacles to get through. However, there is a secret exit; after the Mario team passes a yellow and a red pipe, they will see more spiked balls rolling forward slowly. Right at the ledge, if the team drops down and heads left to the wall, a secret entrance will allow them to enter a pipe further if they keep heading right.

Once gone into the pipe, the team will see that the ground is spinning very fast. They have keep jumping until the end of the ground. They must also watch out for Goombas that appear on the spinning ground. Once they get through, they'll open up the secret exit to 8-7.

World 8-3

The level starts out with giant lava waves that can cause instant kill to Mario and co. This level also has also chained platforms and blocks that sink when one of the characters weight is added to them. The first star coin is located on the second chain platform near the beginning of the level. The best way for the player to obtain the coin is to stand near the end when the lava wave is at its trough point and wait for the platform to sink far enough to grab the coin. The player has to quickly jump back before the lava reaches them. The second coin is much more challenging to catch, since it is under a platform that is constantly hit by lava waves just after the midpoint. The player must wait for the lava to open the entrance to the left. Then he must sprint to grab the star coin and exit before the he touches the lava. The final coin is near the level's end. The player must wait for the lava to pass its crest stage. He must then jump just as he is able to enter the platform. The player can grab the coin, but he must quickly jump onto the platform above so he isn't burned by the incoming lava and avoid Fire Chomps. The player proceeds, while passing the remaining sinking blocks and entering the green pipe at the end. On the other side of the green pipe, a flagpole is waiting at the end of the level.

Enemy Course

Three Podoboos, the enemies on the course, can attack the player on the map. These Podoboos only appear on the bridge and can be avoided by either taking an alternate route or by timing it correctly.

One enemy course level has two rows of four Toad balloons on a platform. However, Podoboos can jump through the platforms. The player has to wait for the Podoboos to retreat in the lava if they want to collect all eight Toad balloons.

The second version is very similar to the first version, but the Podoboos don't jump as high. However, they jump more often. There is a single row of eight Toad balloons on a platform, as opposed to the two rows of four.

The third version involves Toad balloons on the air. There are poles that help the player to collect the balloons. Podoboos also have to be avoided.

World 8-File:Fort Icon.png

This tower is the first level to feature firebars. There are also moving rocks that can easily crush Mario and make him lose a life. Kamek is fought at the end. Kamek teleports often while the rocks move. His magic transforms one rock into a common enemy. Enemies can vary between Koopa Troopas, Koopa Paratroopas, Goombas, Bob-ombs, Monty Moles, Thwomps, Buzzy Beetles, and Spinys. An occasional Mushroom may also pop up.

World 8-4

After falling down a deep tunnel, Mario and Co. will have to deal with several Stone Spikes. There are Bulbers in the water, which help the player see. The second part of the level is infested with Jellybeams. They are the only light source in this section of the level. For the final part, the player will have to swim upwards through some pipes that make strong water currents. After entering a pipe the exit will be close.

World 8-5

This course is a side-scrolling course, featuring Tilt Lifts that can be moved by rotating the Wii Remote. At the start, Bob-ombs will descend by parachute to try to harm the player. Past the checkpoint flag, lava geysers and Crowbers will try to overwhelm the player. If the player isn't careful, he may fall into the lava below. It is easy to run out of time in this level.

World 8-6

This course takes place in a volcano with rising lava. The player will have to advance upward quickly to avoid it. During the second part of the level there are pendulums that help the player keep climbing. All of the Star Coins are in plain sight. Propeller Mushrooms are very common in this level.

World 8-7

The level is secret, in which can only be unlocked by taking the secret path on World 8-2. This is the first and only level with Bonecoasters. There are a total of five coasters throughout the level (two at the underground section, three at the above ground section). The Bonecoaster helps the four dodge the lava geysers that are constantly shooting from the lava. The first Star Coin is located on the second Bonecoaster, where it is barely above the lava, which Mario, Luigi, Blue Toad, or Yellow Toad must grab as the Bonecoaster comes out of the lava. The second star coin is located above two lava geysers, which the four must jump off the third Bonecoaster to grab it. The last star coin is found between the four and fifth Bonecoaster. Mario and co. must stay on the fourth Bonecoaster, grab the coin, and jump to the fifth Bonecoaster before they touch the geyser. After the Bonecoasters, it is a short jump onto the flagpole, which leads Mario and friends to 8-Airship.

World 8-File:Airship Sprite.png

The last Airship level in the game. The main enemy in the course is the Mecha-Koopa, but the biggest danger in the level is the cannons and the players will have to dodge a barrage of cannonballs at one point. In the midst of the cannonball barrage the first star coin is waiting and the player has to jump from flying cannonball to flying cannonball to get to it. Throughout the level the player will have to spin screws in order to keep going. At the end is the last battle against Bowser Jr. With Bowser Jr. defeated, Mario can now advance to the final showdown against Bowser.

World 8-Bowser's Castle

For the first (out of two) rooms there are a lot of Podoboos, which will jump out of the lava to attack the player. They can be stopped by an Ice Flower. The second room has a lot of falling platforms and sinking lava, but the platforms fall faster than the lava. In the last room, there is a big green door leading the player to the final battle against Bowser himself. The player needs to make sure to reach the Midway Flag first before Mario enters the final showdown against the Koopa King. On the far right of this room by the door to the final battle, there is a hidden block that contains a Mushroom or a Fire Flower. Then, Mario enters the final door of the game and the final battle will officially begin.

Bowser will breathe fireballs at Mario while he is reaching Bowser. (If Mario touches Bowser, he will die and has to begin from the Midway Flag.) When Mario reaches Bowser, Mario has to hit the switch at the other side of Bowser to save a person who seemingly resembles Peach. Peach ends up to be Kamek in disguise, unfortunately. Kamek will make Bowser grow, but to his astonishment, Bowser grows too much. He spits fireballs at the plumber and breaks the walls (or obstacles) while chasing Mario. He can also stomp to create hazardous lava waves. Eventually, after hopping on countless numbers of floating platforms, Mario will see a big switch at the end of the room with an exclamation Mark (!) on it with Peach above. Mario hits it, causing the lava to sink, along with Bowser. The final victory fanfare is heard as Mario did his victory pose for defeating the Koopa King once again. Then Peach falls down, and they go outside where they saw Luigi and the Toads on their Hot Air Balloons. Luigi lets them go and as he was about to enter, the balloon left him behind, so the Toads decided to let Luigi enter the other balloon. Then, Peach tells Mario about the secret world. After that, the credits (breakable blocks) roll.

The Koopalings, Bowser, and Bowser Jr. are about to be crushed by his castle.

Then, after the credits, Larry Koopa and Bowser Jr. came in and saw that Mario and his friends are returning home on their balloons. Bowser Jr. pointed Larry to the other six Koopalings who are pushing Bowser. Then, the castle begins to fall due to the large strength, crushing Bowser, Jr., and the Koopalings.
