Bowser's Dark Matter Plant
- “There are a bunch of traps here too! Just be careful of the gravity.”
- —Luma, Super Mario Galaxy
Bowser's Dark Matter Plant is one of Bowser's galaxies in the game Super Mario Galaxy. This galaxy has two gravity-flipping areas, along with patches of Dark Matter which are deadly to touch. Bowser is fought at the end; the fight is much tougher than the previous one. If Mario wins, he receives a Grand Star.
Planets/Areas
Template:Conjecturaltext
The planet is a huge plant that makes dark matter. If Mario touches the dark matter he instantly disintegrates. The plant has two main sections. In the first one there are many moving platforms across some dark matter and a 2D area with many gravity changes that Mario must cross, and a secret area above it all with a ? block. The second part has much of the same things but there are moving gaps caused by dark matter in the platforms and a 2D gravity section surrounded by dark matter and small Black Holes.

These are just stairs that lead to Bowser. There are two Lumas trapped in ice crystals that Mario must free to move on, as well as a crystallized Life Shroom on the second platform.

This is the planet where Mario fights Bowser for the second time. It is also where the dark matter is created. There are ice crystals and green plates that when smashed leave coins. Also, the ice crystals can be used to block Bowser's fireballs and the green plates can be used to block the shock waves Bowser makes, but neither can protect Mario from Bowser's new Dark Spin attack.
Missions
Darkness on the Horizon
Mario must go through the plant (including two side-scrolling areas), avoiding black holes, Dark Matter and the holes it burns into the ground. To avoid the dark matter, Mario must use platforms to travel over the dark matter. However, in the 2D areas, Mario must climb to different sides of the platforms because the gravity changes often and will result in Mario falling into the dark matter if he is on the wrong side. Eventually he will reach Bowser who must be defeated in the same way he was last time, only this time Bowser's attacks are harder to avoid and additionally Bowser uses a move similar to Mario's spin to attack Mario. He will also not start shooting Fire at Mario like he did in his first fight until he is hit once.
