A Gritty Goomba is, in essence, a Goomba swathed in cloth with a spike and colored flag protruding from its head and sunglasses over its eyes. A Gritty Goomba is capable of summoning sand storms at will; however, this is the only thing it can do.
The Gritty Goomba's flag is red in Teehee Valley and green in Gwarhar Lagoon. Hoever, this has no effect on their stats.
In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Mario and Luigi had to protect Princess Peach from these Goombas (along with Spiky Snifits) as she crossed Teehee Valley to get to Little Fungitown.
