Template:Infobox An upcoming Mario Kart game is in development for the Nintendo 3DS. It is the ninth installment of the Mario Kart series and its release date is yet to be confirmed. The players will be able to exchange Ghost Data and play online in multiplayer mode.[1]

- Unnamed tarmac race course with Peach's Castle, cherry trees, the bouncy mushrooms from Mario Kart Wii, and the pipe tunnel from Mario Kart 64.
- Unnamed mountain track with trees and pipes.
- Unnamed race course replica of Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus and Wii Sport Resort's Wuhu Island. The track layout is possibly the same as the first round of the cycling event from Wii Sports Resort.
