Mario's Power Gauge is a gauge that appears in the Mario 3D series of games. When Mario touches an enemy or hazard, his gauge will drop. Depending on the hazard, a different number of points will be taken away. It has eight points in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine and three points in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. However, in the Galaxy games it can be raised to six with a Life Mushroom. In Super Mario Sunshine it is called the Shine Gauge, but it works the same way.
