Friendly Floyd
Friendly Floyd, greeting Yoshi, Luigi and Toad.

Friendly Floyd is a character from the Super Mario Adventures comic strip that was featured in Nintendo Power magazine in 1992, which was later released as graphic novel.

Mario and Luigi first bumped into Friendly Floyd at Yoshi Village, where he had been trying to sell items such as toothbrushes and lightbulbs to the Yoshis, which they had no use for. There he told the Bros. that Bowser had kidnapped several of the villagers and had sealed Yoshi in an egg when he attempted to fight back. Mario tried to hire him to act as their tranlator, so they could understand what Yoshi was saying. However, Floyd declined, but he did sell them a "Yoshi Language Learner" and took off (Unfortunately, every word or phrase in the book translated into the word "Yoshi".).

Later, Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Toad ran into Friendly Floyd again when he was trying to sell lipstick to a Piranha Plant. He was convinced by Luigi to help them defeat The Koopalings. He supplied bombs to the group and helped in the battle too. Later on when Princess Toadstool blew up Bowser's Tower he, after saying goodbye, took off again.

He was last seen at Bowser's Castle trying to sell automatic cameras for Bowser's wedding.
