| The Blue Banana first appeared in ''[[Donkey Kong 64]]''. Here, there were two varieties. One was [[Lanky Kong]]'s equivalent of an ordinary [[banana]], so he collected them throughout the levels. The second variety was only found in multiplayer battle mode. When a [[Kong]] collected the banana, all of the other players would be encased in a thick, blue, gelatinous goop. This would give the player who used the Blue Banana an advantage until the others broke free.

| The Blue Banana was set to appear as an item in ''[[Donkey Kong Barrel Blast]]''. Its effects were unknown, although screen shots have shown it turning the user a dark blue color. The advantage of being this color is still unknown as it was never used.
