Dash Peppers are fruits appearing in Super Mario Galaxy 2. If Yoshi eats a Dash Pepper, he will turn orange[1], and gain the ability to dash much faster than normal; this power-up is known as Dash Yoshi. This is very helpful to run up steep hills, ramps, and across water [2] during a restricted period of time.
