The original Donkey Kong arcade machine.

Frantic Factory is the third world in Donkey Kong 64. It is a rogue toy manufacturing factory. Chunky Kong is held captive here. The area's boss is Mad Jack the Jack-in-the-Box. Entry to this level requires 15 Golden Bananas.

This stage is notable for having an arcade machine with the original Donkey Kong game. Completing this game will award Donkey Kong with a Golden Banana, and later the Nintendo Coin.

Areas in Frantic Factory

  • The Lobby - The main entrance to Frantic Factory, This room leads to the Storage Room, and, if both #3 Bananaporters are touched, Snide's Shop.
  • Storage Room - Mainly the central "Hub" area, this room leads to the Factory Machine, Cranky Kong's Shop, and a challenge room for Chunky Kong. Above, on a second floor, are two challenges for Diddy Kong. This room also has a Tag Barrel.
  • Factory Machine- The largest area of the factory, shows a challenge for all the Kongs.
  • Block Room - An area that features Alphabet Blocks that tower to the top of the room. Diddy Kong is required to climb to the top of these blocks using his Spring Jump to get a Golden Banana. This room also branches off to Funky Kong's Shop, and to a room with a challenge for Tiny Kong.
  • R&D - An area a top of the Factory, according to the maps spread across the factory. It is a large room, with many sub-rooms, where the Kongs each face a challenge.

Enemies in Frantic Factory

Trivia

  • Even though there are many kremlings and other enemies in the Factory, none of them seem to be actually working.
  • It is possible the factory is called "Krem Co.", as that name appears on a clock in the room across from the starting point.
  • This level is unique because it has a mini-boss called the Toy Monster.
