Gelato Beach is a beach part of Isle Delfino in Super Mario Sunshine. A great Sand Bird egg was here for some time and many solar panels help incubate it. During Mario's time on the island, a large Wiggler napped on top of the glass dome where the Sand Bird's egg was in. A strange creature called Plungelo appeared and helped wiggler with the sun problem when it was asleep by moving the mirrors. After the wiggler was awakened, it rampaged the area, leaving Mario to defeat it. Mario eventually got to ride the Sandbird and collect 8 Red Coins. Gelato Beach is on the "stomach" of the dolphin shaped island, east of Sirena Beach.
Cataquacks inhabit this area. Of particular notice are sand designs that pop up after spraying Dune Buds with water, which also happen to be the key to defeating Cataquacks. There is a watermelon festival at the hut to the west of the beach. Also in the area there is a coral reef where many fish lurk about. Additionally, there is an amphitheater overlooking the whole beach, from which many tightropes extend.
This is the first level of Super Mario Sunshine to use the Noki people, and to feature and appearance of Il Piantissimo. It's the largest beach in the game, with catamaran boats, surfboards, huts and tourists.
The entrance to Gelato Beach requires five Shine Sprites.
