Slope Slide (sometimes called Sliding Down a Slope or Slide) is a move used by Mario and Luigi when they duck on a slope. This move first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3 and later in Super Mario World and New Super Mario Bros.. Peach also utilizes this ability in Super Princess Peach. The character sits down and slides down the hill while gaining speed, and are invincible to most enemies. Sometimes in levels, the course is dangerous to slope slide, because going so fast down a slope may lead to an abyss.
In Super Mario World, it is also possible to slide a hill up by ducking while running it upwards.
Trivia
- Hammer Mario is the only transformation that cannot Slope Slide.
- When sliding down icy slopes, Mario will gain even more speed when compared to regular slopes.
