Dinger Derby is a 4-player mini-game in Mario Party 5. The players will have 30 baseballs thrown at them by a pitching machine of sorts and must hit as many of them as possible. There are four types of pitches, a standard pitch, a fast or slow ball, and a screw ball that wobbles furiously. In the background, one can see an audience in the stands made up of Koopas, Goombas and others. In fact, oftentimes the ball a player hits will hit one of them! They act dazed for a moment then fall down. This is one of the mini-games where high scores are recorded.
