The Shooting Star is Mario's second original kart in Mario Kart DS. It is a small kart that's front is shaped like a yellow star and a yellow zigzag where the player sits. It has an average speed, handling, and drift. It shows moreover a low weight and selection of items, along with high acceleration. To unlock it, the player has to get a gold trophy on every cup in Nitro Grand Prix on 100cc, just like the other unlockable karts.
In Mario Kart Wii, there is a similar bike that's also named the Shooting Star. (Though it is worthy of note that in PAL regions, it's known as the Twinkle Star).
