Spanias are a sub-species of Spinias that are found in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Super Paper Mario. Unlike most sub-species who are either weaker or stronger than the true species, Spanias stats are exactly the same as Spinias. In fact, the only real difference between Spinias and Spanias is that, while Spinias are green, Spanias are orange and possess spikes on their heads, meaning jump attacks won't work and will prove to be counter-productive. They attack by dashing and spinning in order to ram Mario and co. Although they are rather weak, they move very fast, and their charges can be tricky to block or dodge.
Spanias mostly live in underground places such as Rogueport Sewers, the Rogueport Pit of 100 Trials, the Floro Caverns and the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials. Also, they are the only one kind of Spinia that appears in Super Paper Mario. There is also a sub species introduced in Super Paper Mario called a Dark Spania.
