The Shooting Star is a bike that appears in Mario Kart Wii. It can only be used by large characters. It has a star on the front and a comet trail on its sides and exhaust pipes. It must first be unlocked by winning the 100cc Star Cup. The Shooting Star's speed and weight stats are fairly good. It may very well be the successor to the Shooting Star kart from Mario Kart DS.
Although the Shooting Star has a good drift and mini-turbo, it drifts externally instead of internally (the Bullet Bike, Mach Bike, and Flame Runner have an internal drift), which can make it harder to control its drifting for some people, whereas making it easier for others.
The kart counterpart for this bike is the Honeycoupe.

Trivia
- The Shooting star is the only vehicle other than the Booster Seat in Mario Kart Wii to go through a design change other than a palette swap. In this case, the star on the side of Rosalina's shooting star is larger than on the other Shooting stars. Also, Rosalina's does not have a foot rest, as the others do.
- The Shooting Star has a grey wing on the handle bars.
- The Shooting Star is the only bike with a very high drift rating that actually drifts externally.
