Frightmare is the last minigame in Mario Party 5. First, Mechakoopas will appear. They need to be stomped, thrown, or avoided for sixty seconds. They can breathe fire. If they are breathing fire, they hurt the player if stomped, but they can be stomped if they are charging up. After, Bowser sends fire rings. Avoid them for thirty seconds. If successful, Bowser will fight the player. He can charge at the player, breathe fire, and try to stomp the player. To dodge this, get out of the way when he jumps through the air. When he lands, he will crack a tile. After a tile cracks three times, both of characters will be sent pummeling to the final area. Bowser will grow to 10 times his normal size... Luckily, the floor will collapse. Bowser's head and arms will still be sticking out. He will throw orbs. Then he will breathe fire. He will then send out an easy-to-avoid electric orb. Look out for the shockwave! When the orbs from the first attack are heated up, pick one up and hit Bowser's face with it. The shockwave from the electric orb will destroy the orbs, so be careful! Hit him five times to defeat him. But, the player only has ten hearts.
Trivia
- The middle square where Bowser lands to duel the player gets cracked, so it only needs to be landed on twice.
- The name is obviously a portmandeau of fright and nightmare.
