Stars live above The Mushroom Kingdom and are ruled by the Star Spirits. Stars begin their lives as Star Kids in Starborn Valley under the care of Merle and some Ninjis. The Stars live in a city above Shooting Star Summit, called Star Haven. Geno is also a type of star being, although it is unknown if he is related to Twink's species.
Stafy, a character from his own series who makes cameos in some Mario games, could be considered a star, although he is actually more of a starfish (which might make him a Starslap, Zeostar, or Starkiss if he is a Mario species at all). It is actually unknown exactly what Stafy is, and it actually may be that he is a Star, as he once lived in the sky before venturing underwater (where he was assumed by the people who lived there to be a starfish).
Super Mario Galaxy features star-shaped beings, which are called Lumas.
