Template:Articleabout Template:Infobox Mario Golf was a game in the Mario Golf series for the Nintendo 64. Despite the obviously 3D characters on the game's box, the game features crappy 2D graphics. The game has fourteen characters to select from on its own, some of whom were generic humans, who didn't make any other appearances. The franchise has been accused of "ripping off Halo".

Gameplay

Mario Golf had undergone many changes since its predecessor. This game was much more detailed, both in character design as well as course layout. Courses involved many obstacles and traps, giving the player additional challenges. The precision of the wind's effect on a shot increased dramatically, giving addition to the game's realism. Another addition to realism in the game was how the player's reaction affected the golf ball's shot. The player could put spin on the ball as well as closely direct where the ball could land when a shot was performed correctly.

Mario Golf for the Nintendo 64 had the ability to link with Mario Golf for the Game Boy Color. With the use of the Transfer Pak, the player could transfer data from one version of Mario Golf to the other. By doing so, the player can play as characters specifically in the Game Boy Color installment on his or her Nintendo 64 installment of Mario Golf.

Trivia

Wario's pink shoes.
  • It should be noted that Wario's Shoes are pink in this game instead of his regular green. It seems to be an error since his shoes are green in the artwork. Regardless, the shoes were changed back to green in Camelot's next game, Mario Tennis.
  • This game shares several sound effects with Super Mario 64.
  • One of Wario's alternate costumes is the same clothes he wears in Wario Land 2 and Wario Land 3, he does wear his normal clothes in art work for this game but due the graphial limitations in the game he wears black dungarees and shoes, with light yellow shirt and hat.
