DO you know the site where you got this File:CChuck.png image from?
- I think that is from Wikipedia, before they started merging all Mario articles together. The artwork itself is from the Super Mario World instruction booklet (I believe). -- Son of Suns

Uniju's Insult
[19:06] <Uniju> Yeah, SoS is an arrogant jackass. <_<
This was what Uniju said about you in Chat, just so you know. He's been bad mouthing everyone, just check My page. He says the "F" word WAY too much, and he is flaming anyone he can find. Just giving you the heads up, in case you want to take some action. My Bloody Valentine
- There's no need to tell SoS about what is said about him in chat, DP. You can take action as necessary without ratting people out. Wa TC@Y 07:01, 22 October 2007 (EDT)
- Then I'd get in trouble, everyone thinks I hate Uniju (when I really don't), so if I were to ban him from MarioWiki, everyone would be complaining to me. My Bloody Valentine
- Uh, you didn't do anything to insult Uniju. He got made because I was adding all his flame quotes to my Userpage, and when I said that you will not take his flames towards me very well, he said you were an arrogant jackass. My Bloody Valentine
- Then I'd get in trouble, everyone thinks I hate Uniju (when I really don't), so if I were to ban him from MarioWiki, everyone would be complaining to me. My Bloody Valentine
- Okee. I would still like to know why he thinks of me that way, and what I can do to repair any wrongs. -- Son of Suns
- From what I heard, it's your view on the stub-deleting policy. I dunno if there's more, thought.
That's weird, 'cause I didn't vote either way in the proposal. -- Son of Suns
- Well, I remmember hearing him babbling about how you think all stubs are one-liners and how you think they should all be deleted and blablablabla... Yes, it's weird.
- Wow. I am the one who archived the proposal, thus stopping all stubs from being deleted from that point forward. I really don't care how the wiki views stubs and what to do with them. That's why I didn't vote. -- Son of Suns
Link to comics
Hi, these comics I linked to were published in a magazine that was given away for free. I am absolutely not sure if it makes any difference, but I think the fact that they were never supposed to be sold makes it acceptable to link to them. / Time Q 13:54, 22 October 2007 (EDT)
- Okee. I'm not exactly sure what to do, so you should do what you feel is right. -- Son of Suns
Sandy Planet discussion
could we redirect Desert Planet to Pokey Planet? ¢oincoll€ctor many Mario Galaxy expected people would wish it.
- Well, they look like different planets. Pokey Planet will eventually be deleted anyways (I think). We shouldn't worry about it until the game is released. -- Son of Suns
Comic Appearances
Well I'm not sure if this is it but these are the comics i've SEEN you appear in....

Oops
My apologies. I didn't know that, sorry. Bulbapedia uses information from anything, not just recent articles, so, that's why I did that. The Kirby edit to it was recent, however. King Dedede's Multi-Jump task was only confirmed yesterday! Can we keep that? My Bloody Valentine
- OK, now you just confused me. We can only add information on New articles, but we can't add information on New Subject articles? If you put it THAT way, you may as well just remove the template altogether. My Bloody Valentine
- I... guess. It still seems like a big waste to me. My Bloody Valentine
Why did you revert my edits? do you know where did you hear that? ¢oincoll€ctor I need a proof.
The savior of MWiki is on! Howzit going? ~Lil ' Boo Ciao!
- Savior of humanity? Yes. Savior of the wiki? That's pushing it. Anyways...........I am doing pretty well. Overburdened for sure, but well. How are you? -- Son of Suns
I'm fine my self.. I'm just finishing of my comic right now. ~Lil ' Boo Ciao!
Orange Fish
as you deleted orange fish article, must the Category: Ballon Fight Series be deleted? ¢oincoll€ctor The only article that is in it it's Flipper.
- Well, there may be more in the future, so we'll just wait until Brawl comes out. -- Son of Suns
Wikipedia
Huh... Wikipedia took info from Super Mario Wiki, too. Or another user take info from there, and put it here. Example: Rudy the Clown in Wikipedia - Rudy the Clown. However, i think that this non-original info is better than nothing, took from Wikipedia, Answers or another website. After all, Wiki is based in editing and another user can rewrite this in the future...--Caith Sith 13:45, 31 October 2007 (EDT)

Alternate Canon
Recently I've been thinking about how we separate the The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!from the video game series and why. I read your MarioWiki:Canonicity article, and as you know we're considering the show to be alternate canon right now. Just to clarify, what I'm talking about here applies only to the Super Show and not to the other shows by DiC, as I have not seen them yet.
I've seen the animated segments up to episode 20, and it's actually pretty consistent to the series in my opinion, especially if you think about other games we consider canon. So, I'm not sure why it would be considered alternate canon when its "creative licenses" are less than game such Strikers (changed characters' personalities, which then changed back) or Luigi's Mansion (blew open a huge plot hole--the death of Bowser, which we were able to fill with a lot of speculation) is considered canon. So, could you to tell me why you feel the cartoon series is in an alternate canon? What I want to do is combine the canon(s) in the biography sections of the character pages, but I don't want to go ahead without some approval.
My problem with all of the alternate canon stuff is that it doesn't seem to be backed up by solid evidence. I can see thinking of the Super Mario Bros. movie as alternate canon, as the storyline is drastically different, but the Super Show fills in the events immeadiately following Super Mario Bros. (if you listen to Mario's Plumber's Log at the start of each episode). You wrote, "Each comic, book, movie, and cartoon series is like their own little universe, all distinct from each other and the video game universe. -- Son of Suns" (Talk:Canonicity) but I can't see any more differences between the show and the video games than I see between multiple video games (say, Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars). Hey I may have more free time to work on the wiki. Any major changes I should know about? -- Son of Suns
OMG! I knew it! To Wayo, in your face! XDD You said that we should move on, but nuhhhhhhh!!! >:3 Anyway, it's possible that techinally you may still be busy on college...I'm glad your here anyway. :P There are a lot of changes happened ever since you left. The canonicity page you made had made some changes. See MarioWiki:Canoncity for details. The Sightings page are completely updated, it's now called the References. The MarioWiki:Chronology is also updated. The Trouble Center is voted to be destroyed because of the utterly lack of use and lack of cooperation. The Poll Selection is created recently, along with the Mario Calender. Listen, some people believed they need you, some people believe we should move on and get inspired by your work. They decided to move on, but kept the works of the wiki well-along going. There are so many changes... I can't list them myself. But maybe I can, DP's demoted, Coincollector (talk)'s promoted. Stooben Rooben (talk) is promoted, and Grandy02 (talk) is promoted. Other details? Steve and I tried to upgrade the wiki to the latest version of the MediaWiki software... It turns out that were truly stuck with this cruddy version. The latest version looked messy... ;[ Anyway, that's all the info I have SoS. I GTG to school. I'm busy lately. Ciao! RAP... Shhh... there will be a image that it is 6MB, and it's the Mario and Sonic Wii boxart. It will be uploaded soon... *shifty*
- Why hello there - RAP covered it up pretty well. Don't worry about the MediaWiki version - we can make do with this version. The problem is some of the extensions we rely on don't work with newer versions. Wa TC@Y 15:59, 19 November 2008 (EST)
Canonicity
All right! Glad to know you're fine with the canonicity changes! There's few things greater on terms of wiki-ing than to worry about working against someone's work just to find out that they appreciate the changes that have been made. You may notice I made a couple edits I made - those were simply made to comply with the proposal that called for the change to MW:Canonicity in the first place. According to it, since we don't have an official canon to work with, we can't say whether something is canon or non-canon, and then say which level of canon it is in. So, for that reason, I had to alter what you said about beta elements and fan creations. As you can see, I wrote that we don't cover fan creations because they are unofficial, and that beta elements, just like other development information, has a home at in character development and history sections. Great to have you back! Stumpers! 14:43, 19 November 2008 (EST)
- Yeah, I totally agree! MarioWiki:Chronology, in my opinion, is really unnecessary. With the passing of two recent proposals, the one regarding canonicity and the one regarding article organization (see Banjo for a quick and dirty example... it'd be much better organization for a character with more appearances... I hate to admit that I haven't been able to put in enough time yet to do over an article as my own proposal dictated, but rest assured I have a rewrite of Mario in the works... I just want to make sure it's done right, so it's taking way too long), MarioWiki:Chronology is going to need another rewrite. My work on it was my first attempt to squeeze the speculation out of our articles... but since then GhostJam came up with the initial idea that has since sparked what eventually became the canonicity proposal and the article organization proposal. My gosh, just thinking about all the work that needs to be done around here in light of that makes my head spin. We hardly cover alternate media at all on our big articles like Mario or Peach... hoo. In any case, the only remaining purpose chronology still has here is to say, "Yes, there is a chronology. We're not in the position to speculate about it on the articles, but for what it's worth, here's what we hardcore fans make of the continuity." Stumpers! 17:19, 19 November 2008 (EST)
Zomg ur back...
... Well I guess my brainchild is screwed then.
Aw btw, since you seems to be aware of your demotion, I'd point out that you can ask a Bureaucrat to get back your power. I don't think there's an instance where that trick failed.
Gofer Glowsquid Blitzwing (talk · gnome work)
Wow, your back, is this like the third time already? Good to have ya back! Don't worry those crappy n00b days i had are over, i was pretty pathetic back then >_>
Stay this time! :D
Chronology
Almost everything you said is currently reflected by our new article organization (per that proposal I mentioned... I'd link you but my computer isn't good with proposal archives). As for your questions:
1) The movie starts out with "what if," implying a "what-if scenario." That's not concrete enough to be put in the articles, which is why we can both be glad that the new article organization allows us to divide by media: the movie will be separate and we thus don't have to worry about continuity between them and the rest of the series. 2) I was not aware that Captain Rainbow was part of the main timeline, but I agree with whoever put it there. Super Smash Bros. has always had the fighters really being stuffed dolls or sentient trophies, never the actual characters themselves. On the other hand, Captain Rainbow had Birdo herself there. Luckily, Smash Bros. and CR are going to be separate from other games in the article organization... I'm repeating myself a bit. 3) Good question. I suppose there's nothing preventing a swap of those two sources. This is the only thing you brought up where it would make a difference to the way the articles are organized.
Basically, the organization is based on separating every game, comic, etc. from every other game, comic, etc. (separate sections), then placing these entries into their respective series and media. For example, "Too Hot to Handle" would be organized as follows on Mario's article: Mario --> television appearances --> The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! --> "Too Hot to Handle" So, regardless of whether "Too Hot to Handle" is canon, it has its own little section that doesn't affect any other section. That being said, because the live-action segments happened before the cartoon segments, all of them are placed beforehand, alongside flashbacks. But, we won't be mentioning Baby Mario's adventures with Yoshi in that section of the article, just as we won't be mentioning Mama Mario's disciplinary measures in the Yoshi's Island section. Stumpers! 18:30, 19 November 2008 (EST)
- Whoa! I'd just like to say, I feel like I'm talking to someone completely different than the person I thought I knew back when you were writing MarioWiki:Canonicity. It's exactly the kind of discussion that we're having right now that is the reason why I finally gave up on using speculation to organize articles. I believe your first two points are completely valid, definitely not moot. Something that many users underestimated was the Super Mario Wiki's ability to sway public opinion on the matters of canonicity and chronology: I can't tell you how many times users would try to refute my arguments against the TV shows being excluded from the canon by saying that it was "alternate canon!" So, I'm very glad you brought that up: by posting MarioWiki:Chronology, I was doing what I was working against by rewriting MarioWiki:Canonicity. However, I can refute your third point: the Super Show is very deliberate about referencing back to the Brooklyn days, and none of the live-action segments ever reference the cartoon segments. The only references to the past are discussions and flashbacks to their youth. I highly recommend you watch the set of three cartoons - you get the distinct impression that DiC was not trying to create a separate continuity from the video games (see the SMBSS intro, the supplemental material for SMB3, and "Mama Luigi," all three serve as a sort of retelling of events, albeit in very truncated, zany form.) both of which are retellings of which gives more clout to the idea that Mario and Luigi never returned to their plumbing business. However, in light of the fact that no official source has ever come out and explicitly, I could see dividing the Super Show section into live action and cartoon segments. Just to give you a little more information on why I feel the cartoon show didn't initially set out to contradict the video games:
- Mario and Luigi enter the Mushroom World, defeat Bowser, and rescue Toad, just like in Super Mario Bros.
- Supplimental material for Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 states that after the events of the Super Show the four banish Bowser to the Banishment Zone (though unexplained means... perhaps Princess Peach's unexplained powers from the Super Mario Bros. introduction?
- Mama Luigi - nuff said. One of Luigi's fractured retellings of past events. (remember Paper Mario 2? Kind of funny how that lines up if you think about it... again, speculation though.)
- What it all comes down to though is that by organizing the articles as the community agreed on, we don't need to speculate about anything you brought up, with the possibility of the Super Show. Currently, we are allowing sources like Yoshi's Island or Super Mario Land 2 to be at the front of their respective sections because of the obvious chronology, and so I would assume that the Super Show would work the same way, but we still need to think about that. Welcome Back
Hello
I realized that my 'welcome back' comment up there was pretty hollow. So, let me fully introduce myself. I'm Stooben Rooben, though most users call me "Stooben" or "Stooby". Practically any variation or abbreviation of my user name has been used. :P Anyway, I've heard a lot of fantastic things about you, though I never got to meet you. You seem like a kind user, and I hope maybe we can talk some time. If there's anything you feel that you weren't filled in on that happened over the year, feel free to ask me what happened. See ya around! :) — Stooben Rooben 10:36, 22 November 2008 (EST)
I FEEL IGNORED.
btw, I noticed that you didn't comment on that page unlike what I expected. yaaaayyyyyy --Blitzwing 14:46, 22 November 2008 (EST)
- Ehehehe, well, I only included that thing because a few opposers in the proposal argued that the page could offend the writers whose content got there. No one actually removed a section for a reason other than "It's not funny", and all persons I asked said they were fine with they're writing being on there. Infact, there's at least one article created specifically to get there. --Blitzwing 15:13, 22 November 2008 (EST)
- Thanks, I'm glad my work is appreciated! You're quite an awesome editor yourself, so I'm glad to see you getting back in action. I hope you get re-promoted. =) — Stooben Rooben 20:13, 22 November 2008 (EST)
- By confirmation of the Writer himself, that page was created to be archived on BJAODN. I mean, just look at the name.

Category:Characters
There was a discussion a little while ago about how specific categories should be for articles. We decided that for characters that are minor (appearing in only one game), that we would remove the Characters category, and replace it with a category that was specific to the game he/she appears in. (Ex: Garro appears in SMRPG, so he gets this category.) It was kind of confusing to me, so I asked RAP about it in chat last night, and that's what he told me to do. — Stooben Rooben 16:19, 23 November 2008 (EST)
- Those are good points, actually. While I do think that its absurd to have characters like Goom Goom with the Characters category (because he's extremely minor and doesn't affect gameplay at all, with the exception of having a tattle), it doesn't make much sense to include them in the Characters page, but not the category. It was a discussion, but it was never actually set in stone. I think a proposal would be a fantastic idea, so that it is set in stone. I'd be happy to help make it. Another issue that maybe could be brought up is: should we have a page that lists the characters that appear in a specific game? (Ex: Template:Fakelink) — Stooben Rooben 16:30, 23 November 2008 (EST)
- Understandable; we're all entitled to our own opinions. =) Hmm, that's actually a way better idea. That could help separate Characters, Items, Places, Enemies, and other similar articles into smaller articles that are easier to navigate. I'd fully support that idea. — Stooben Rooben 16:45, 23 November 2008 (EST)

Rudnicki made quite a few sockpuppets in the past few days that were all in the 189.13 range, and キノピオ was in that range. — Stooben Rooben 20:16, 24 November 2008 (EST)
- He's done a lot of flaming, spamming, vandalizing, and made perverted comments to other users as his original account, and has made around 20-30 sockpuppets since then. (All of which have done the same thing). He's used up all of his chances every single time; even a few of his sockpuppets were given extra chances, but alas, he continued to break the rules. Last night, he made around 30 spam articles, all of which were targeted to me or Super-Yoshi in one way or another. Re: Block
I was wondering when you were gonna ask this. :P Sonic Rocks/Rudnicki/Kool Koopa came into chat as a wikiguest and mocked me and the other Sysops for being "stupid" for not blocking his "f***ing Japan sockpuppet". He insulted me some more, claimed that he was "unstoppable", and then left. I blocked him, and I blocked this guy for having the exact same IP. We had 4 other vandals hit with the exact same IP. I gave his Japanese sockpuppet a shot, and he mysteriously stopped editing; he then created more sockpuppets, created spam articles targeted at some Sysops. I know you may have different opinions on blocking, and it may violate the blocking policy, but to me (and quite a few other Sysops – you can ask), a sockpuppet is a sockpuppet; they need to be blocked, especially if they're targeting specific users, and spamming to do so. So, I apologize if you feel my judgment was too irrational. — Stooben Rooben 19:28, 28 November 2008 (EST)

- ...Okay, that's really odd. If you click 'edit', you'll see that I used light gray for the background. I wonder what caused that? o_0 — Stooben Rooben 12:41, 2 December 2008 (EST)
RE: Chronology
It made perfect sense, and by all means cut right into the page - I'm almost thinking we might end up merging it with canonicity after we remove speculation. Good luck! Stumpers! 13:33, 3 December 2008 (EST)
- The list sounds like a good idea: it's been something I've been considering as well, especially since we need more history on this Wiki and less in-universe stuff. Moving on, are you saying that someone could write, "After the events of SMS, Bowser Jr. kidnapped Peach," but not, "After the events of SMW, Mario rescued Princess Peach from her own castle." If that's the case, I'm with you on that idea. Just one note on the Chronology article: remember that by proposal the Wiki agreed to separate forms of media in appearances section, so unless someone was to make a section called "Portrayals of So-and-So's Youth," it would currently be against policy to write about a character's appearances in order of their age (ie Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Island DS, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Family Album: The Early Years, Mario vs. Wario, "Little Marios" (Mario and Luigi as toddlers), etc.) The Mushroom Kingdom is one of those articles like Mario - it's subject appears in so many sources that is near impossible to list them all out. As such, I'm hoping, somewhere down the line (probably after we have the list of releases for reference), to get a group of people together to tackle individual sections. For example, someone could take the Super Show while someone else could do Adventures of SMB and the SMW cartoon while someone else did the NES games, etc., etc. It's also like Mario in that speculation is coming out of its ears. I remember I wrote Mario with the intention of showing people that, if we're going to assume all games are in one continuity, then we need to assume that all alternate media are as well. I'd say it worked out pretty well with this new recognition of alternate media that I'm seeing around here (you, Grapes, me, and then users who support more coverage for minor subjects, such as those who supported the split in the Mama Mario article. Remember, someone tried that earlier and people complained that they were both minor characters so they should stay merged). Anyway, it all comes back to the fact that we really need to update the MK article... it's going to be horrible. Stumpers! 17:33, 5 December 2008 (EST)
- Yes, but: we tried merging all sources that and the community shot it down in the proposal I mentioned. People are fine speculating that SMRPG came before SM64 but they aren't fine with the pseudo-explicit references between SMB and the SMBSS. For the life of me I don't understand why, but I think it has something to do with a chronology website I saw back in the day that claimed only the video games were canon. Then, we repeated that assumption and here we are today: with a community that can only come to consensus on the issue if the solution doesn't mix video games with alternate media. I don't think anyone's going to complain if you were to say, "The earliest portrayal of Baby Mario, Issunboshi, showed him with a mustache. This idea was carried over to The Nintendo Comics System, but dropped in Mario vs. Wario and Yoshi's Island," if that's what you're trying to do. When (or if you are already) you get sysop status again (PS if you don't have it I think by policy you're supposed to get it back since you're active again), check out the sysop forum and you can see the discussion we had regarding the issue. We eventually came to the conclusion that separating by media, series, and source would be a good idea because it's a non-speculative idea: the separation would be based on media and series, not by fan ideas of canon. - That is a mutual goal of ours, sir! Maybe one day some game will explain it all. It would certainly be interesting to see a game where "alternate timeline" Mario's got to interact with each other, or anything really. I just want everything to be interlinked somehow. :) Stumpers! 00:31, 6 December 2008 (EST)

Re: More Mario Series Recommendations
I've actually been debating for the past few days as to whether or not the Mini and Mega Mushrooms should even be there. Your advice was just what I needed to tell me which way to go. ;) Thanks. Also, since I'm moving Coin up to items, should I add a section for the different type of Switches in the Marioverse? I would think that they're notable enough, but I'd like some extra input. — Stooben Rooben 13:12, 4 December 2008 (EST)
- Actually, let me take part of that back. (I'm still waking up, so please bear with me.) What if I just rewrote the Mini and Mega Mushrooms' sections to make it sound like they aren't rare? They have appeared in quite a few games, which I did write. I think I just worded some of their sections wrong. I'm still all for moving Coin up to Items though. — Stooben Rooben 13:26, 4 December 2008 (EST)
- Those are both great ideas. (Also, thanks for fixing the Mini Mushroom article. I never got to play Super Mario Kart, so I didn't know. XP) As for adding an entry to the article about Switches, I did mean about Switches in general, not just an entry about each Switch. Again, I worded things wrong! The Poison Mushroom is a better idea actually, too. Thanks. I appreciate all the advice you've given me. — Stooben Rooben 13:50, 4 December 2008 (EST)
