Shouldn't this be merged with Minigame Space? After all, they were renamed that in Mario Party 10. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 19:58, 8 August 2018 (EDT)

Merge a part of this article with Minigame Space

merge Mario Party: Island Tour and Mario Party 10 info 1-5-0-0
The coverage of this particular space is confusing. The reason it's called "Free-for-All Space" in Mario Party 9 is because you can only play free-for-all minigames on that particular space (with the function of playing 1-vs-3 minigames consigned to 1-Vs-3 Spaces), and yet it's called "Minigame Space" in Mario Party 10 because 1-vs-3 and 2-vs-2 minigames can be played on those spaces as well. Therefore, I think we should determine what part(s) of this article should be merged with Minigame Space:

  • Mario Party 10 info only: This would merge the Mario Party 10 info. This option is my suggestion.
  • Mario Party: Island Tour and Mario Party 10: Since only free-for-all minigames are playable in the main event of Mario Party: Island Tour, I'm throwing in this option as well, though I'm indifferent on whether this option passes.
  • All info: This would merge the entire coverage of this space to Minigame Space, though I don't recommend we do this for the reasons I outlined above.
  • Keep info: This would keep things as they are now, but I don't recommend this either.

Merge Mario Party 10 info

  1. Toadette the Achiever (talk) My preferred option.

Merge Mario Party: Island Tour info and Mario Party 10 info

  1. Toadette the Achiever (talk) Second choice.
  2. BBQ Turtle (talk) At the very least the Mario Party 10 stuff needs to be merged, but I think the Island Tour stuff should probably be added too, because although the game only features free-for-all minigames, it doesn't necessarily mean that it performs the exact same purpose- there are no other spaces for different spaces for other types of minigame, so unless it's called a free-for-all space somewhere, it just sounds like a generic minigame space that should be merged.
  3. Baby Luigi (talk) Per all.

Merge with 4-player space

I think this should merge with the 4-player space from Mario Party 6, because the 4 player minigames later became known as Free-for-all minigames, due to the number of players varying. Partier (talk)

Merge with 4-Player Space

This has been brought up before, but it's weird how there's only one page for the 1-Vs-3 Space, yet there are two for the space with this type of minigame. As far as I can tell, Free-For-All minigames are just named that way because MP9 and MP10 allowed for fewer than 4 people to play at once, and are otherwise 4-Player minigames; the only other difference is that the prize gets distributed depending on placement rather than just the winner. Mario Party games that would feature FFA minigames also have them categorized under 4-Player, removing any further ambiguity between them.

Now yes, FFA minigames aren't strictly 4-Player minigames, but then again, neither are 1-vs-3 minigames. The only issue will be naming the merged page, as they do have different names compared to the 1-vs-3 Space, so I will propose two options:

  • Merge pages, name it Free-For-All Space: Name used by the most recent title to feature this space.
  • Merge pages, name it 4-Player Space: Minigame type name used by the most recent Mario Party games.
  • Do not merge pages: Status quo.

This page is pretty long compared to the MP9 section on the 1-Vs-3 space page, but it should be fine even with the extra content.
