Pages 4 and 5 of the Famicom Grand Prix: F1 Race manual, showing the six rival drivers.
A manual scan showing all six rivals, for visual convenience.

What's more, half of them have different names in the game and in the manual! George Turbo, Bronco Maccini and Panther Pedalf are predictably listed as George.T, Bronco.M, and Panther.P, but...

While Rumble and Antonio are in the same boat and should be a pretty simple, uncontroversial move, our pal Howard/Arnold seems to have a bit of an identity crisis. Should we move the page to Arnold.S (or Arnold S., going by this ol' proposal), or should we keep him as Howard Axel?

I would guess his name change might've been motivated by trying to avoid a lawsuit (a la James Bomb), since it'd be pretty strange if they changed a character's name FROM something unrelated TO the name of a famous person. The question is, does a manual supercede the game?

Move all three (Michele Rumble, Antonio Gico, and Arnold S.)

  1. EvieMaybe (talk) secondary choice.

Move only the first two (Michele Rumble, Antonio Gico, and Howard Axel)

  1. EvieMaybe (talk) primary choice.
