(See discussion above) This image is actually two sprites from the [https://www.spriters-resource.com/gamecube/pmttyd/sheet/93652/ sprite sheet], and a Spiny Shell in the manner depicted is never seen in-game. On one hand, it is interesting to showcase an aspect of a character's design that is not normally seen, as long as it is indicated as such. On the other hand, It's never technically ''meant'' to be seen this way and so we cannot know if it is accurate. Keeping it might also open up a can of worms regarding any other images of this type that could be uploaded.

Usage

I cannot recall Spiny Shells ever actually being used in the game for any purpose; this appears to simply be a graphical layer that the head and feet are superimposed against. Indeed, if memory serves me correctly, in the first two Paper Mario games, Spinies went into their eggs to attack. Can someone corroborate this? I'm sort of away from my system at the moment.... It appears that they do go into their eggs to attack, as seen here, so it does seem possible that it is just a graphical layer. If it is, I'm not sure this image is really necessary. --A sprite of a Flame Chomp from New Super Mario Bros. Wii.TheFlameChomp (talk) 17:28, 3 April 2018 (EDT)
Sure looks a lot like a graphical layer. The red seems to be have been done in either Microsoft Paint or Photoshopped as I see black near the bottom of the red section. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 17:31, 3 April 2018 (EDT)
I noticed that too, but a lot of TTYD graphics look kinda dirty up close. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:40, 3 April 2018 (EDT)

  1. LadySophie17 (talk) As much as I like the illustrative value of showing a Spiny Shell like this, I feel this is the safer option here.
