Cuckoo Condor is the guardian of the Ruby Passage and the third boss in Wario Land 4. The time given to defeat the boss varies on the game mode: in Normal, the time is 4:00; in Hard, it is 3:00, and in S-Hard, it is 2:00. Cuckoo Condor is at first concealed within a large weaponized cuckoo clock, which has a pendulum with a large claw that can pick up Wario and bring him to the large saw blades bordering the arena to inflict damage. It is not possible for Wario to escape from the grasp unless he is seized near the center of the screen. Cuckoo Condor can take damage from Wario ramming the large claw so that it swings up and damages the Cuckoo Condor. As it takes damage, Cuckoo Condor will start using its buzz and electrical saws to attack Wario. After taking enough damage, the clock is destroyed, though the spinning bird on top of the clock remains as a headpiece for the exposed Condor. In this state, Cuckoo Condor will lay eggs that hatch chicks upon touching the ground. To damage the Cuckoo Condor, Wario must pick up these eggs before they hit the ground, then power throw the egg onto its head. As damage is dealt over time, the Cuckoo Condor begins to lay eggs at a significantly faster rate while moving increasingly faster. After enough hits, Cuckoo Condor is defeated and Wario is rewarded with the creature's Earrings.
