World 2-3 is the third level of World 2 from Super Mario Bros. Special.

Layout

The level starts out with a series of bridges that the player must traverse while avoiding Cheep Cheeps jumping from below. A single ? Block above one of the bridges contains a power-up. The player eventually reaches flat land and a Warp Pipe, which takes the player to an enclosed area later in the level. There is a ? Block containing a power-up in the area and a Hidden Block that blocks the player from getting the power-up if it is hit too early. The player can break the Brick Block if they are powered up and continue the level, or they can use the Warp Pipe to go back where they came from. If the player does not take the first Warp Pipe or backtracks, they will face two green Koopa Troopas and a Hard Block formation which houses the enclosed area. The player is then met with three Little Goombas and the ending Warp Pipe, which leads to an underground area featuring a Hard Block staircase and the flagpole.
