To the Top of the Fortress is the second mission of Whomp's Fortress in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. The mission's goal is to reach the top to reach the Power Star. It can be completed only after the previous mission is completed.
Layout
The Power Star is located on top of a tall tower, which was not there during the previous mission. After the player climbs up to the platform where the Whomp King was fought, they then have to use the platform that circles the tower to reach the peak while avoiding homing Bullet Bills. Some of the ledges extend and retract out of the tower. The final platform raises the player to a small balcony that holds the Power Star.
