Blooper's Secret Lair, or Acorn Plains-Blooper, is the secret level for Acorn Plains in New Super Mario Bros. U. As its name suggests, the level's main enemies are the Bloopers. The player unlocks this level after reaching the secret exit in Tilted Tunnel. Completion of this level allows the player to bypass Layer-Cake Desert, Sparkling Waters, and Frosted Glacier via a rainbow, some rocks, and pipes in Sparkling Waters' area, leading the player to Jungle of the Giants in Soda Jungle via some logs.
Layout
This level begins on a platform made of Warp Pipes, with one that leads the player into the underwater section. The underwater section has many Warp Pipes, many of which either pump a current that forces the player in a certain direction or expel Bloopers. The section begins with two Warp Pipes pumping currents on the left side. A ? Block containing a power-up is found, followed by two diagonal Warp Pipes containing Bloopers. Yellow Warp Pipes that alternate blowing currents are found, along with three more Bloopers. A ? Block containing a power-up is followed by another Blooper, as well a section with multiple Warp Pipes that pump currents and rotate ninety degrees. The player continues through a section with more Bloopers and rotating Warp Pipes, including a group of four Warp Pipes that move in a circle. A Red Ring is found, along with more currents and a Blooper in a section leading to a Warp Pipe that leads to the next area. Two Bloopers are found at the beginning of the area, which is vertical and contains Warp Pipes blowing currents that rotate in circles. On the right side next to the red Warp Pipe is a Hidden Block containing a 1-Up Mushroom. A Warp Pipe at the end of the section leads to the area with the Goal Pole.

The first Star Coin is found in an alcove in between two Warp Pipes just past the second ? Block containing a Fire Flower.
Located prior to the section with the Red Ring, the second Star Coin can be reached by swimming under the red Warp Pipe beside it, under the portion of the screen the camera shows.
The third Star Coin is found in a Warp Pipe in the area with many rotating pipes that pump out water. This secret room also contains a pair of Blooper Nannies guarding the Star Coin. |
