Please don't crop artwork out of scans without the background and use them as standalone artwork. Adding transparency or something similar like a white background goes against [[MarioWiki:Image use policy|policy]] due to the poor results this often leads to, and a few of yours even didn't come out right, with parts of the background still intact. Also, when linking to other files in a file summary, make sure they're linked like this: <code><nowiki>{{file link|Example.png}}</nowiki></code> (result: {{file link|Example.png}}), otherwise it just displays the whole image. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 07:51, July 11, 2024 (EDT) |

Italics
Hello, Its-A-Me-Austin! Thanks for your contributions. When writing titles for media like games, films, TV shows, and publications, please remember to italicize them. This is done by placing two straight apostrophes (not quotation marks or curly apostrophes) on both sides of the title, or clicking on the I icon above the text box and typing out the title. For example, typing out ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' generates Super Mario Bros.
If you are using a device that uses curly ("smart") punctuation, you may need to disable this function in your device's settings to be able to type out the correct apostrophes. |

Thank you for reminding me about that. It's been such a pleasure being part of the Mario Wiki, as it's a website I visit very often.

Image categories
Hello, Its-A-Me-Austin. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: [[Category:Super Mario World images]]or [[Category:Super Mario World media files]] Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Hi! You've been uploading images about early concept arts in Super Mario Bros. When you upload images, make sure to categorize them below the "aboutfile" template. In this case, you would need to type in…
[[Category:Super Mario Bros. images]]
If you need additional help, you can ask around for advice. Thanks and keep contributing! Sparks (talk) 09:42, June 19, 2024 (EDT)
Please make sure to use professional and fitting file names that describe the image. Mario JC 23:44, June 20, 2024 (EDT)
Notes
Please don't leave notes or written requests on articles. If you need help, leave a note in the summary box (underneath the text editor), leave a post on the article's discussion page, or you can ask another user. Mario JC 23:27, June 23, 2024 (EDT)
Ok thanks Its-A-Me-Austin (talk) 23:26, June 23, 2024 (EDT)
This also applies to requests to contribute to the page. We have templates for this purpose, on Category:Notice templates (in this case, use {{construction}}). The gallery headers should be kept professional as well. Mario JC 01:54, June 27, 2024 (EDT)
Aboutfile sections
Hello, Its-A-Me-Austin. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the {{aboutfile}} template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded syntax is shown below. {{aboutfile |1=Subject of the image |2=Where you found the image |3=Artist |4=Describe edits, if any |5=Other versions (use file link) }} Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line for the parameter(s) you don't use. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using {{aboutfile}} incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Nice job on your uploads! When filling out the "aboutfile" template, just simply remove the sections you don't use instead of leaving them blank. Sparks (talk) 11:48, June 27, 2024 (EDT)
Please keep your file names professional. It's okay to have fun but it doesn't need to be reflected in what's presented to the page (this for example). Mario JC 23:29, June 27, 2024 (EDT)
How do I change a file name? --Its-A-Me-Austin (talk) 23:31, June 27, 2024 (EDT)
- Click the "move" tab at the top of the file page. After renaming, the name should be changed on the gallery page as well. Mario JC 23:39, June 27, 2024 (EDT)
Awesome job on the gallery for Super Mario Bros.: Peach-hime Kyūshutsu Dai Sakusen!
Amazing job so far on the gallery! Keep it up! I'll see if I can add anything to it from existing screenshots on the wiki. -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk · edits) 17:51, June 28, 2024 (EDT)

Cropped artwork
Please don't crop artwork out of scans without the background and use them as standalone artwork. Adding transparency or something similar like a white background goes against policy due to the poor results this often leads to, and a few of yours even didn't come out right, with parts of the background still intact. Upscaling images from the size they were in originally is also not a good idea as all this does is make the image blurrier.
Also, when linking to other files in a file summary, make sure they're linked like this: {{file link|Example.png}}
(result: File:Example.png ), otherwise it just displays the whole image. Mario JC 07:51, July 11, 2024 (EDT)
