The Peanut Popguns are an item in Donkey Kong 64. Diddy Kong can buy them from Funky Kong. Their appearance is that of two small pistols made of bamboo. They are used, among other things, to shoot enemies, Peanut Switches, and Banana Balloons. In the level Fungi Forest, homing ammo can be aquired for the popguns. He also can use these guns while using his jetpack.
The Peanut Popgun appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, as an attack for Diddy Kong. It is Diddy Kong's standard special move, and can be charged up. In Smash Bros., the peanut ammo bursts out of its shells when fired. The peanuts can be grabbed and eaten to reduce damage. The longer the gun is charged before firing, the faster the peanuts fly.
Trivia
- In beta screenshots of Donkey Kong 64, the Peanut Popguns originally looked like real guns. This was changed because Nintendo thought it was too dangerous.
