Revision as of 16:20, July 30, 2008

Hi there, everyone, and welcome to my talk page on the Super Mario Wiki! If you're also a fan of the Mario series gals that I've listed in this section of my user page, or want to discuss the Mario series in general with me, feel free to drop a line.

Of course, I definitely welcome all "dedicated" fans of the Mario series' gals, because I'm one of those folks that are determined to support them full force!

Take care, everyone! -- M. C.

Familiar Name

Hey, my name is Stumpers. I remember your name from somewhere... do you remember mine? Perhaps from the old N-Sider forums or from a gamesite somewhere? Are you on Gaia maybe? Stumpers! 18:54, 24 June 2008 (EDT)

Hi there, Stumpers; are you referring to the "original" Nsider Forums that NOA closed prior to the site redesign? If so, then yes, it's the M. C.! I also maintain The Peach & Daisy Headquarters. Also, had a chance to look at my profile page yet? --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Enthusiast! 22:45, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
Yeah, that's the one. I think I remember that website (although in a very different form) and you being on N-Sider. Nice to see you again! I'm a sysop here, so just let me know if you need anything. Stumpers! 23:08, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
Thanks; looking forward to being part of this mission. And I really didn't know you were a sysop! And yeah, my Peach/Daisy fansite had the name change since the beginning of this year. --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Enthusiast! 0:21, 25 June 2008 (CDT)
I'm still a fan of the "Mario Gals" as we're calling 'em. I'm actually playing through Mario Power Tennis right now with Peach and Daisy as a doubles team. They're really awesome at doubles because one can man (or... woman in this case) the net and use their technique to the fullest while the other stays in back and watches out for lob shots. I'm hoping that Rosalina and Pauline become regulars... Rosalina's on her way. You might enjoy The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! because Peach is a very prominent character. It's very wacky, though. ;) There's a lot of the episodes up on Youtube right now.

While I'm on this talk page I suppose we could talk about the whole confusion about Baby Daisy. The goal of this Wiki is to discuss the complete Mario series, which makes it a little hard when there are irrecconsilable differences between something, like Daisy in the games and movie for example. You're going to find that there are a lot of alternate continuities, or different storylines, in the overall Mario series. Off the top of my head there's the video game/DiC/Nintendo Comics System timeline (some people view the DiC cartoons and NCS as separate because of inconsistencies that arose with more modern games, but they do each have a place in the timeline), the North American movie, the Japanese anime movie, the three Japanese OVA shorts (each has its own continuity), the Japanese mangas (I'm not well versed on them, but I know that at least one, Mario-kun, has its own timeline), and so on and so forth. Sometimes the situation is easy, like with the movie, and we can tell that a continuity is different from the video games, so then we divide information into continuity sections, like what's happened on the Baby Daisy page. Then there's other things which are more contested, like the DiC cartoons I mentioned. The problem is that there are many, many people (I'd even call it 90%) who believe that they are not part of the video game continutity, but the cartoons and games never directly contradict one another. They only do so in little ways, similar to how games like Super Mario Bros. 3 and Paper Mario are different.

So, what we try to do is just line up everything that fits into the continuity into the biography section, noting any and all inconsistencies along the way (for example the plot hole of how Mario got to Brooklyn if he was born in the Mushroom Kingdom). Another idea, which is quite popular, is to separate by media, noting in a section for the cartoons where each fits into the timeline (ie between Yoshi's Island and Super Mario Bros.) Either way works, but we like to at least have all information available. Anyway, I hope that helps clarify why there's been trouble with the Baby Daisy article. See you soon! Ah, so that explains it; I really have no problem with this "info"; I too have a knack in terms of if something seems to be out of line. At least we're able to try to make sure it's still clear when explaining Mario series info. --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Enthusiast! 21:36, 27 June 2008 (EDT)
Definately. Clarity is the bottom line, so placing information from another medium into another section is always acceptable. Stumpers! 00:47, 28 June 2008 (EDT)

I hope you don't mind...

I know that you're a big supporter of all those girls, including Rosalina. (BTW, why not put Mona on there?) Well, as I say that Rosalina should become more regular in games... alright, I'll cvome out with it. I hope you're okay with me hooking Waluigi up with her. I'm serious. They're both open, and Waluigi's tall enough for her (Seriously, compare Mario and Rosalina in Galaxy.) Er, you'll find out if you read my Paper Mario game. (The chapter explaining this isn't up yet, but...) Oh, and please say something in my talk page.

Negative Squad

With all due respect, I'm more of a "positive" type of person, and Peach, Daisy, Toadette, Birdo, and Rosalina would rather hang with positive folks like Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Yoshi. Besides, it's more fun that way. -- MeritC
Aw, but you left Rosa all alone!!! Meh, i guess it's ok since she's not really too "social"... Still... isn't there someone else for her?
Uh, read my reply again. I didn't leave Rosalina out. :P --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Enthusiast! 15:42, 28 July 2008 (EDT)

Yello!

So I came up with the screen name for my general log in and kept it for Camp Hyrule as well the one time I did that. It was a crazy coincidence though that the mascot of CH was a horse named, "Stumpy!" Crazy, huh? Stumpers! 03:25, 2 July 2008 (EDT)

Images

Well, the european pages tend to receive the info a bit early than NA websites, as well as they have good art samples, It's that I usually go there by that reasons. ¢oincollctor rsitem209.png Visit my Deviantart page from my userpage to see some drawing of the princessses! ;)

Really? it seems I won again :P because I've found another pics of some characters in very HIGH quality, although they are really big.

¢oincollctor rsitem209.png I mean "some" 'cause looks like there aren't certain images of the main characters (specially the baby ones and King Boo) :\ About Daisy's art... that's right in a way.
