Just swimming.

A Blurp is a green fish that slowly swims back and forth or in one direction. Mario first encountered these fish in Super Mario World. Blurps often appeared with Rip Van Fish or Cheep-Cheeps. Cape attacks, fireballs, and Yoshi can defeat them. However, since Blurps only move horizontally, Mario can just swim around them. This fish should not be confused with the giant Cheep-Cheeps called Blurps in Yoshi's Story.

The Blurp reappears in Super Mario Land: 6 Golden Coins.
