Chips and Dips is a Battle minigame from Mario Party DS. Its name comes from the name of a kind of food. This minigame takes place in a casino. Along with Shuffleboard Showdown, this minigame is not available in the Korean release, likely because of the gambling themes present in this minigame. It is one of two minigames in the game to be entirely chance-based, the other being Cheep Cheep Chance.
Gameplay
Each player picks a card for three rounds. A card has either a 1, a 2, a 3, a 4, a 5, a 10, or a Bowser symbol on it. The first round has the "1," "2," "3," "4," and "5" cards; the second round adds the "10" card; and the third and final round has all of the cards. Depending on the number on the card, the player gets that number of chips for their stack. If the player gets a Bowser card, their stack of chips is reduced by half. Whoever has the most chips at the end of the third round wins and gets the most coins. If two or more players have the same highest number of chips at the end of the third round, those players win. However, if all players have the same number of chips, the minigame is considered a tie. The highest possible score is 25 (which is achieved by flipping a "5" card in the first round and a "10" card in the second and third rounds), while the lowest is one (achieved by flipping a "1" card in one of the first two rounds, flipping either a "1" or "2" card in the other of the first two rounds, and flipping a Bowser card in the third round).
Controls

- Rules – "In a game of chance, select a card in each round to win the chips shown. If you pick a Bowser card, however, you'll lose half your stack."
- Tips – "It's purely a game of chance, since all the cards are facedown. Just hope that you don't pick a Bowser card!"
