History
Super Mario series
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
In Super Mario Bros. Wonder, each standard level contains at least two Wonder Seeds, with one always rewarded to players for completing a level and rescuing a Poplin, while another is found after triggering the level's Wonder Effect, which the Wonder Seed ends upon being collected. Levels with a secret exit contain a third Wonder Seed, while Break Time! levels, Search Party levels, Badge Challenges and Poplin Houses contain only one. As with collectibles in previous games such as Star Medals in Super Mario 3D Land and Green Stars in Super Mario 3D World, collecting enough Wonder Seeds can unlock levels. After a Wonder Seed is collected, it becomes gray and transparent when re-entering the level. There are a total of 225 Wonder Seeds in the game. The color of a Wonder Seed changes depending on the current world, being identical to that of the world's Wonder Flowers: blue for Pipe-Rock Plateau, turquoise for Fluff-Puff Peaks, pink for Shining Falls, yellow for Sunbaked Desert, green for Fungi Mines, purple for Deep Magma Bog, orange for the Petal Isles, and white for the Special World.
They also bear a similarity to Super Mario Odyssey's Power Moons, with them changing their color depending on the region within the game and the player being able to buy them in shops for 100 flower coins.
Super Mario Run
The Wonder Seed appears as one of the stamps on the Stamp Cards in the Super Mario Bros. Wonder event in Super Mario Run from December 20, 2023 to March 15, 2024.
Tetris 99
In Tetris 99, if the Super Mario Bros. Wonder theme is applied, the badges take the form of the Pipe-Rock Plateau Wonder Seed icons.
