- The pose Wario-Man makes in the Game Over screen of his stage in WarioWare: Touched! (pictured) references the pose Tiny Wario makes in his artwork for Virtual Boy Wario Land.
- In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the mention of Li'l Oinks in Pine T. Jr.'s email is mistranslated as "Bubu", which is derived from their Japanese name.
- Despite their appearance in Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, Flurries, Tweeters, and Spark did not receive artwork in the manual until Super Mario Bros. 2.
- In Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, access to World 9 is blocked if the player uses a Warp Zone.
