Count Boomiere is the keeper of the Garnet Star and an optional boss in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
He is the leader of the Dark Boos inhabiting the Poshley Sanctum. In order to encounter the massive boo, Mario must attack the curtains in the Poshley Sanctum with his hammer three times. This well wake up the massive boo, who was sleeping on the job. He well then engage in combat with Mario and his friends. In battle, Count Boomiere is a force to be reckoned with. He can turn invisible and call in Dark Boos to assist him in battle. Despite this, he can be put to sleep very easily, and if sleeping his defense well drop to zero, allowing Mario and co. to attack him more easily. Once defeated, the count well comically explode into a ton of Dark Boos, who well quickly fly away from Mario in fear.

Count Boomiere is very lazy, often falling asleep while watching the Garnet Star. Because of this, Mario can simply take the star without a fight, unless he chooses to wake the large boo. Despite his lazy personality, he is very strong, and (although he is a ghost) can crush Mario with a Body Slam.

Dunglings are small brown creatures that somewhat resemble poo. They appear in the hidden ninth chapter of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, which takes place in their home land, The Rougeport Garbage Dump. Here they assist their boss, a giant purple Dungling named King Nincompoo.
