For everyone's information, the descriptor used in the Russian Apple Store article was chosen as the article's title because, to my knowledge, it is the most succinct out of all the others. Other descriptors include (with links to their relevant App Store articles or archives of them):
- "ceiling filled with shuriken" (English; same in Brazilian Portuguese)
- "ceiling with shuriken stuck in it" (Japanese)
- "the ceiling" (too short) / "dreaded star-shaped darts" (traditional Chinese)
- "ceiling with scary shuriken" (Dutch)
- "ceiling riddled with fearsome shurikens" (French)
- "falling ceiling peppered with shuriken" (German)
- "ceiling that will threaten to overwhelm you with its shuriken" (Italian)
- "ceiling full of scary shurikens" (European Portuguese)
- "a piece of roof with shurikens" (European Spanish)
- "a piece of the roof falling on you with shurikens" (Latam Spanish)
Please note that non-English descriptors (most of them) were translated with DeepL. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 19:53, November 29, 2022 (EST)
EDIT: Completely missed "falling ceiling" used in an official tweet. Should the page be moved to this or is it too generic? -- KOOPA CON CARNE 20:10, November 29, 2022 (EST)
- the fact that every language uses a different yet equally generic name heavily implies theres no official name for them, so simply naming this page "Shuriken ceiling" or "Shuriken trap" would be equally as, if not more, fitting. of course, the page would need the {{conjecture}} template. - YoYo (Talk) 16:09, December 4, 2022 (EST)
- MarioWiki:Naming § Acceptable sources for naming states that anything the likes of "giant spike block" (e.g.: "rotating platform", "giant spear man", "leaping flame", "green fish") is perfectly acceptable as an article title if no proper name for that subject can be derived from the same or a higher-priority source. The descriptor used as a name also has to be straightforward enough, also as per the aforementioned policy. I would say "falling ceiling" or lovúška s syurikenami ("trap with shuriken") definitely fits the bill. Besides, conjectural titles are only used if no official name of any sort exists for a subject worth covering. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 17:10, December 4, 2022 (EST)
