Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island was the second game in the Super Mario World series, and the first game to star Yoshi. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island was later re-released for the Game Boy Advance under the title Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island. Years later, a sequel named Yoshi Story was released for the Nintendo 64 to much criticism, and a Nintendo DS sequel named Yoshi's Island DS was also released.
Plot
One night, The Stork was carrying two babies across the sky. These two babies were Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, the future heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom. Suddenly, a strange figure known as Kamek the Magikoopa, flew by and hit the stork. He took one baby from the Stork, but the other baby fell down into the ocean. When Kamek discovered that the he hadn't captured the other baby, he sent his Toadies to get the other baby.
Meanwhile, the other baby, Baby Mario, turned out to have fallen on Yoshi's Island right on top of a Yoshi! A long with the baby, Yoshi found a map. He went to his other Yoshi friends and told him what had happened. After some talking, the green Yoshi found out what the baby really wanted – he wanted to save his brother from Kamek. So, the Yoshis decided to help the baby and they set out on an adventure to rescue Baby Luigi from Kamek and his Toadies.
