Poison Pokeys are a sub-species of Pokey thatappear in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. They extremely resemble Pokey Mummies from the first Paper Mario; however, the two are completely different species, as Pokey Mummies are actually just dead Pokeys. Poison Pokeys are found at the Riverside Station and in the Pit of 100 Trials. They attack like regular Pokeys, by flinging parts of their body or simply attacking Mario directly, but they are stronger and can induce poison.
Poison Pokeys appear again in Super Paper Mario. They can be found in Castle Bleck and in the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials (room #85). Their attack pattern is the same as in the previous game. Poison Pokeys sometimes drop Dried Shrooms when they are defeated.
Poison Pokeys are green, just like the Pokeys in Super Mario Bros. 2. Poison Pokeys may be a reference to those Pokeys, and there's a small chance that the Pokeys in Super Mario Bros. 2 are Poison Pokeys.
