Poison Pokeys are a sub-species of Pokey that extremely resemble Pokey Mummies and appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. However, the two are completely different species, as Pokey Mummies are actually just dead Pokeys. Poison Pokeys are found at the Riverside Station and the Pit of 100 Trials in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. They may be fought like a Pokey, but are stronger and can induce poison.
Poison Pokeys are green, just like the Pokeys in Super Mario Bros. 2. Poison Pokeys may be a reference to those Pokeys, and there's a small chance that the Pokeys in Super Mario Bros. 2 are Poison Pokeys.
